Question Work out Terminology 101

Hi there, us New beginners could use an up-date on the latest "Work out Terminology" these days? Words like...

-- Max OT Cardio
-- HITT
-- BMR
-- Fasted Cardio Session

any and all Workout Terminology updates will be much appreciated.

Sissy welcome to IM!

Max OT Cardio (AST's name) - basically HIIT cardio or High Intensity Interval Training.

HIIT - see above answer

BMR - Basal Metabolic Rate (the mimimal caloric requirement needed to sustain life in a resting individual)

Fasted Cardio Session - doing cardio on an empty stomch, i.e. upon waking in the morning.

thanks, I just found out about BMI too. = Body mass index (BMI) is measure of body fat based on height and weight.

the BMI does not really apply to people that lift weights, so take it with a grain of salt.

Yep, totally agree it's a very general guideline for the average joe, doesn't really tell you anything that you can't see with the naked eye.
