New here, duh...

Hi all, I'm Brad, and obviously I'm new here.

I wrestle for my high school (160lbs for those who care) and have advanced weights as a class, so I workout Monday-Thursday for a half hour or so, plus some lifting for wrestling Monday and Wednesday and heavy cardio Tuesday and Thursday. I'm looking to add on some muscle this year and still keep my weight down so I can keep my place without having to compete with my friend over the next weight up. Would 5x5 lifting and good cardio be a good plan for this?

Outside of school I like bmx and wakeboarding whenever I get the chance, and hanging out with friends at LAN parties and stuff like that.

NIiIce another wrestler

My buddy was 160 district and region champ

I was a 119 district champ and region 4th....

You have to balance lifting and wrestling. Its gonna be hard to do both because you are gonna be dead from practice and pushing yourself to the limit. If you have enough strength to lift after practice, you arent practicing hard enough. Lift now. Wrestling isnt here yet. Dont forget you have to be 160 at thanksgiving!

Add Sunday to your sched. w/ your 2 days of lifting.

good luck

Thanks for the advice, Sunday sounds like a good idea. I'm usually over at the YMCA anyway cause that's the only skatepark in my town, so I can have some fun riding and then lift. I have weights 5th period, so it'll be interesting to see how it works out with practice after 6th. I'm looking forward to a fun challenging year.
