I've been working out since 2-15 of this year. Newbie. I've lost 5" off my waist and gained nearly two inches on my upper arms while only losing 7lbs. of total body weight. I'm 5'11" @ 205 lbs. I'm keeping 10 lbs. of bodyfat as a hedge against a "critical loss of margins". It's tough, since I'm very active outside of bodybuilding.
I've reached my first plateau. Bodyweight is dropping slightly, though lifts are maintained, no gains. I'm still losing a bit of bodyfat... leveling out?
I'm natural. At my age, it would be foolish to experiment w/ steriods, hormones. I'm a photographer interested in studying the human form. Not my own, though.
I want to continue to gain so that I may study and learn lighting and form my own body. Also, there's such a tremendous satisfaction from achieving "the next level" from even a single workout! It's become important.
I feel confident in my ability to vary and pace my workouts. I get plenty of rest, eat like a cat... 5-8 times a day. Plenty of water, protein, vitamins, minerals, C. Is anyone as sick of protein bars as I am?!
Though I'm 45, I don't think my testosterone level has slipped at notch since the age of 25. My sex drive is the same, my recovery is increasing, in fact.
I like the idea of working out like a "sprinter", less than 25 minutes. I'm looking to gymnastic enthusiasts for that idea.
At any rate... and my most important point! I'm getting hooked-up in the supplemental "spider web". I've been on creatine and NOS for almost the duration of this event. I've started glutamine recently (this is the only supplement I can say has made a noticable difference, recovery).
Should I just take my protein shakes and forget about the supplemental crap... keeping in mind my priorities are workout, rest... food, rest, killer-quick workouts with lots of variance...more food, rest and positive attitude?
