Thumbs up A quick and Easy Workout for busy people

I used to workout at a club about six years ago, then my wife had kids, two of them. I continued to work out every night after work from 6 to 8 or 9pm. My wife finally told me that she really couldnt handle the kids alone from 6 to 8pm and I had to stop going to the gym. Does this sound familiar to any of you guys? The sad part of this is that I was in pretty good shape as I had been consistently working out for about ten years. I quit going to the gym and for about two years managed to keep looking good without doing anything. I guess ten years of working out kept me going for two years without working out. I then started to go down hill, gained about 30 pounds, lost my muscle tone that I had worked so hard to gain, and began to feel tired all the time, out of breath, and even started drinking beer every night to drown out the kids screaming. Hopefully this scenario is not familiar to any of you guys reading this, but if it is, then you know how easy it is to get out of a good habit (working out every day) and into a really bad habit (not working out and drinking beer instead). If any of you want to scold me, I deserve it, go ahead. After six years of not working out, I had enough and decided to find a way that I could work out and help around the house too. I was always an evening (after dinner) workout person and morning workouts just never seemed to do it for me. Perhaps because I would have a couple coctails or beers in the evening I just never seemed to be all that ready to work out in the morning. The best thing I did was stop drinking beer. I just quit cold turkey and that is probably the best thing anyone could do. I then started getting up an hour earlier in the morning to workout, but found that I didnt have enough time to get to the gym. I bought an elliptical stepper and a body solid multi station weight machine and set up a small gym in one room of my house. I started getting up evey morning an hour earlier and I do 20 minutes of cardio on the stepper and 20 minutes of strength training every day. I do one body part per day, so I can get in 7 or 8 sets of 12 repetitions with about a minute and a half between sets. This way I get strength training and cardio every day and start the day that way. I take a protein scoop in water and orange juice before the workout, and one cup of coffee. I have lost 25 pounds in eleven months and have recovered much of my lost muscle tone. I should mention that I am now 51 years old, and my knees hurt and I dont have the strength I used to have to lift as much weight. I diverted the money I was spending on beer to supplements. If you want to see my program in its entirety I made my own blog, its free and there is nothing to buy and no registration required, just sharing my plan. I would like to hear from anyone that has any comments about my plan, you can leave your comments on my blog. check it out THE SIMPLE AND EASY WAY TO A SUPER YOU
