IA-
Sorry to hear you have experienced this. Must have been frightening. However...I'd be willing to bet a paycheck on my assumption that the individual who assaulted you did not legally obtain that weapon.
That sir, is who the law makers need to go go after: the criminals with weapons...not law abiding citizens...big difference.

Not knowing the first thing about the guns they wish to ban, or about guns in general, is the hallmark of the emotion vs. fact based anti gun type.

I have been shot at 5 times...... Twice in drive-by's by gangsta wanna-be's who def. didn't buy their guns in any conventional manner, one was my Step-sister's ex-boyfriend who decided to drive-by at 2:00am in the morning and toss a few .22 rounds into our house, then once I was spending the night at a friends house and his neighbors were members of a gang, kids who I had been in school with since 5th grade, anyhow they had pissed off someone and early one morning we woke up to gunshots and breaking glass. The punks had shot the wrong house, the one I was sleeping in. Luckily my friend and I had passed out on the floor on beanbag chairs cause one of the bullets hit the wall right in the path of his bed, also his sister was sleeping at her boyfriends which was the most lucky thing because another shot had gone through her window, in and out of her pillow and into the closet door, other bullets hit the brick wall, the eave and the roof, then we moved out of the city and I got shot at by an old man with a sawed off .410 he'd bought at a garage sale cause he thought we were coyotes in the woods and by a drug addled neighbor who was an ex felon who shouldn't have had a gun but he bought one illegally....

"We are like tenant farmers chopping down the fence around our house for fuel when we should be using Natures inexhaustible sources of energy — sun, wind and tide. ... I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that."
