Oh No Paranormal Activity

Did you like Blair Witch Project? I did. Was I bored in it? Fuck yeah, for most of the movie actually.

This movie is sort of like that, however, more happens. Some may say, nothing happens, but thats the tension building. Believe me, there is a lot happening.

The basics are better than Blair Witch. First off, its in a house, not in the woods, so everyone can find themselves in that situation. Also, the 'spirit' or whatever, is not bound to the house, so these people cant just leave, which adds some isolation (which is from Blair Witch). Once again, we get average looking people who act...averagely. All of this makes a plausible scenario.

Be warned that in this movie there arent that many 'spooks,' which I find the least scary. These are no more effective than yelling BOO from behind your grandmother as she makes a pie. Once its done, its done. This movie has more of a scary aura. There are sounds, but you know thats not all. What makes it even better is that what you see suddenly move on the screen, does it again, making it a good stack for horror coupled with the sounds.

I love seeing shit move on its own and with a first person perspective (some of you will hate this) on an average camera view, makes it much more realistic.

Bottom line, I loved it. To get the scariest effect, id say watch it in a house with the lights off. However, seeing it in a theater is just as effective cuz you still have a dark quiet house to sleep in at night.

Id also say that this movie has some replay value. Things happen fast, so youll want to catch what you missed from before. I know of two scenes I want to see again.

So go see it. Great for Halloween. Downloading it somewhere would be fine too, but you may not be able to see ANYTHING between the transfer of video.

I fell asleep in the middle of Blair Witch. The last time 2 movies scared me were while watching The Shining and Dark City on acid, The Shining was funny at times and then it would terrify me, Dark City freaked me out the whole time.... Maybe I should score some blotters and watch this movie....

Blair Witch used the aura method that Paranormal uses. I think what failed Blair was the long fillers.

Paranormal takes what worked in Blair, improves it, proliferates it, and removes what didnt work.

The only thing that scares me anymore is the things people will eat....we have a lot of imported canned foods in our grocery stores because of the diverse cultures here....weird shit like Jellied Eel or Fish Steaks with the skin still on....

Here's one I saw online recently....
