Thumbs down Paranormal Activity

don't waste you time or money on this movie, it's long, boring, stupid AND not scary at all...big disappointment.

No, just a movie that doesn't make me look at my watch every five minutes hoping its over.

I kept waiting for it to get "scary" or even mildly entertaining, and it never happened.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

So you didnt get scared when she was dragged away into darkness? You couldnt imagine sleeping in your own home seeing shit move on its own, your wife standing for hours in complete blackness, or fucked up foot prints that appear out of no where on camera?

I am not questioning you directly. I am discovering why people think some things are scary while others are not. I love these sort of movies because the aura of being scared is being sold here. Auras are slower than their counter parts, spooks. Spooks are no more than simple "BOO!"s and never work twice with the same intensity.

In class we learned about people running on a treadmill to exhaustion. They would want to end at a certain time, but right before they quit, the tester would fire off a starter gun which, of course, scared the shit out of the running tester. After the scare (or spook), the running could continue running a little while more. They fired it again later on and the result was not the same. However, the fear of another gunshot, though not as intense as the initial gun shot noise, lasted the entire bout that the runner could continue running.

Kind of a side effect of a study that sought out to see if a person who wanted to quit was really fatigued or just unmotivated.

I know something scary is going on in this movie and when I know something MORE is going to happen, the suspense I feel is fear. "Whats going to happen next? How will this get worse?"

This movie can happen to any of us since we all live in houses and sleep normally. Not all of us are camping out like in Blair Witch, so I can see the separation. But to say you werent scared at all could just mean you personally just didnt find this sort of thing scary or you went in with a bad attitude.

no, I honestly found nothing about it scary, but part of it may be because I really don't believe in demons or people being possessed. I believe there may be ghosts or spirits, but not evil demons that possess people like in this movie, so it was just too fake for me.

Ahhhh, see, I remember in Exorcist III the spirit spoke about how they cant really touch people except through possession. I suppose the one part in this movie (my favorite part) throws that shit out the window.

In any case, thats why I can see it taking over her, but if you dont buy into it, then that gives me a good reason why you didnt enjoy it.

First person I have heard give this movie a bad review. I'm waiting for DVD anyway.

i just skimmed over the thread so as not to spoil it but the exorcist scared me to death so i think i'll still watch this (via pirate bay). i don't believe in demon's possessing people but it's a scary damn idea. the trailer looks kinda unnerving. if it sucks i can't say i wasn't warned.

This never made any sense to me. Unless youre renting, buying the DVD would be more expensive than 2 tickets at the theatre. Not to mention, if you dont like the DVD, you now have the hassle to get rid of it.

I only buy movies Ive seen and loved. If I love them, I am going to want to watch them over and over again.

Fourth Kind has more potential to be "scary" to me, but I'm really not frightened by much of anything anymore..... maybe I'm numb from years of blood and gore and violence in movies and tv......A recent movie that I think would get to me is Men Who Stare At Goats, even though it's a comedy I'd be thinking about all the crazy shit our government has spent time and money researching, then I'd think about all the shots and injections I got while in the military....

I'm looking forward to it. I love a good scary movie. I almost shit myself at The Unborn. When the little demon bastard came out of the medicine cabinet the lady in front of me almost got punched in the back of the head out of sheer panic.

I actually still go to Blockbuster and rent movies. I enjoy going and looking to see what is out. I haven't bought a movie DVD in a over 2 years. I'm just waiting for every movie ever made to be accessible from your service provider. I will continue to support my local blockbuster until then

Blockbuster has gotten expensive. Renting a game is crazy! You can BUY a used game nowadays for cheaper than the rent price.

the only renting service for video games worth a damn is maybe gamefly, if you spend about that much per month on video games anyway. Personally, I just buy the must have games and play them long past bored of them

It's a novel movie. It's very good IF you don't have ADD.

Having had Graves I can relate to people with ADD.

I haven't bought, rented nor gone to a movie in a long time....I wait for it to go to HBO, I really don't understand the need to see a movie as soon as it comes out.....

I thought it was good. Not the scariest movie of all time, but look how much cash they're raking in with that slogan. The picture in the attic was a little cheesy, but other than that I had chills a few times throughout the show.
