This is going to be worse than the tank abbot vs. kimbo fight.
He's too old.

Jean-Claude Van Damme's 2010 Kickboxing Match
Earlier this year, we reported on action star Jean-Claude Van Damme[/B]'s rumored 2010 professional kickboxing fight. There's been no news on this fight for some time - until now.
While Van Damme has not yet gone public regarding the fight, Thai media is reporting that JCVD attended a December 29 meeting in Thailand to determine details for the fight with Somluck Kamsing. With no media invited to the talks, and all information being reported strictly through Thai sources at the moment, some of this information is definitely subject to change, but it looks like the fight is indeed set for October 2010. This is pushed back from the original rumored March date to allow more time for promotion. The fight will take place in Las Vegas, and will be contested under slightly modified Muay Thai rules. Many of the details of this meeting dealt with broadcasting the fight, which has the potential to be a huge money-maker if promoted correctly.
Perhaps of most interest, the two future opponents also posed for a picture together - the first public indication of the fight in any way from Van Damme's side.
Well known internationally for his on screen role as a martial arts expert, Van Damme was a promising professional kickboxer in the late 1970's and early 80's, retiring in 1980 with a claimed record of 18-1. His opponent, Somluck Kamsing, is a Thai fighter who won the gold medal for boxing at the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Agreed...he's too old and will get his ass kicked.

When I went to Phuket, my friends and I paid a cabbie to take us to a real hardcore Muay Thai training school instead of the tourist friendly ones in town. After 30 minutes of driving down this 6 ft wide winding mountain trail carved into the mountain with sheer cliffs to the left and mountain scraping the side of this 3-wheeled bus-cab, we came to a small jungle pass and had to walk about half a mile in. As we approached we could see this square of stringed light bulbs and hear a generator sputtering, but above that we heard these thwacking sounds, and some grunts....as we entered into this clearing we see a little shanty roof of cobbled together pieces of corrugated metal over a tautly stretched bloodstained canvas mat, and 2 guys with calluses from their knees down to the top of their feet firing off lightning fast kicks and punches, as we stand in awe watching these guys the cabbie motions to us to come over and meet the gyms owner, as I reach my hand out to shake his a glob of bloody snot smacks against his wrist and splashes onto my hand. After I shake his hand he nonchalantly puts his hand behind his back and wipes the glob of on the back of his shirt. We stayed for a couple of hours watching a few sparring sessions and watching a few guys do some bag work, then we donated some money and left....it was pretty awesome watching those guys training to such extremes...
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

He's definitely too old but it isn't unheard of for former champions to return with some success. It will depend on how his body has held up over the years.
IF he had the skills of Randy Couture,... then I would predict a good fight regardless of age. That's all I will say.
LOL, if he had the skills of a professional fighter who hasn't taken off the last 20 years but has been fighting competitively at a high level for the last 15?
and randy couture would get his ass kicked in this fight. this is a modified muay thai fight. randy wouldn't stand a chance

May I know what Jean-Claude Van Damme's professional record is?He does'nt stand a chance against the younger one and that's for sure.Even good, experienced and aged boxing fighters can't win over the young ones.
