Party in His ‘Pants’: ‘American Idol’ Creates a Viral Hit
By DAVE ITZKOFF As far as we’re concerned, “American Idol” can end right now, because its winner has already been found. There is no justice if this season is not handed to 62-year-old Larry Platt of Atlanta, who won our hearts, minds and ears Wednesday night with his performance of “Pants on the Ground.”
The song is apparently the creation of Mr. Platt, who at the very end of the show was permitted to perform the tune (and accompanying choreography) for the entertainment of the show’s judges, Mary J. Blige, and about 30 million home viewers. The lyrics seem to consist mostly of the phrase “pants on the ground,” along with some other words we couldn’t quite make out. Watch it here:

He right though, "lookin' like a fool with your pants on the ground..."
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Laughed my ass off when I watched that last night with my wife... only good part about American Idol
