    I finally get it...

I started working out at the gym several months back and I finally get it. I finally get why people who don't re-rack the weights are 100% douchebags*.

Is re-racking the weights really hard? Is it...like...exercise or something? WTF?! It seemed so trivial, but I've come close to stabbing someone to death with a 45 plate.

I've also run into Mr. Stinky. I was walking from an incline bench to a squat rack and it wafted across me. Really? You rub shit all over your body before coming to the gym? I was going to give him a piece of my mind, but his stench was greater than my indignation.

One positive thing about the gym: on the weekends a lot of the school kids come to the gym. Surprising, pleasantly so, they didn't spend all of their time benching. They clustered around the squat racks and did squats, rack pulls, and C&J. Smart kids.

    * For fun, I was going to post a picture of a douchebag, but when I did my search on Google I didn't get quite what I thought I would. See here. Priceless.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

I hear what you're saying about re-racking the plates. In my gym, I have to wonder all over hell's half acre just to get the weights I want. Also, most of the time I have to defend the bench or squat rack while I'm on off on a mythical journey to find the plates.

And the douchbag pics.. I'd say they are pretty close, especially the very first one that comes up in Google images. That hits the nail on the head of some of the douchbags I've seen in a few gyms.

I have belonged to a number of gyms in my life. I have noticed that in lower class neighborhoods people are less likely to re-rack their weights after usage. Whether it be plates or dumbbells. I used to go to this bally's in Philly and people would be doing flat DB press then just walk away leaving the DB's there on the ground. No one ever said anything. No signs saying pleas put back weights. So its a combination on the people and the staff. I hate public gyms. That's why I built my own

My jack off room mate never put weights back in the locations and he was going to school for being a trainer at the time.

This numb nuts is going to end up being your typical, I-dont-know-shit-but-I-am-certified trainer.

Rarely anyone re-racks the weights in my gym, despite about 10 makeshift signs hung up in all parts of the gym stating to do so.

Since most of the benches and racks have loaded barbells on them, I am constantly asking people, "Are you done with this?" or ,"You see anybody using this?".

I've gotten a good sense of what people do and do not rack weights. If I see the douchebags, I don't ask, I just go for it. 9 times out of 10 they aren't using them. If they are, I just say, "nobody racks their weights around here, I don't know who is using what".

I'm going to invent a bench system that will require a headband and super-magnets. While in the vicinity of the weights the device is deactivated, also while they are on the weight tree they are inactive, but if say a person were to walk away from the bench and not have put their weights away they will come careening across the gym and smack them in the skull....ha ha can you imagine a couple 45's being magically hurled across the room and smacking a guy upside the head????

So, I set up a fartlek course around the gym this morning. You know, to burn fat and build muscle. And guess what!? Some f-ing guy was going behind me and putting up all of my equipment. It took me almost 15 minutes to set up this course and this f-ing guy's gonna pick it up like I ain't using it! I was gonna rage on him with my 12" cannons Mr. Fixit and Lefty McHookstein, but this is my 4th gym membership in as many months and my mom is tired of paying for my enrollment fees.

At least I didn't break my Oakleys or f*ck up my hair. I was looking wicked awesome in the gym today.
