    Just got OUT of court!!!

    What I learned today.

I was sitting in Traffic Division court and overheard a case that will stick in my mind for some time.

Charges: Standing in a Handicap spot & Wreckless Driving (Driving in the wrong direction)

Fine: $270 (Handicap), $150 for wreckless driving & court cost!

Argument by the defendant: I was driving in a parking lot (u shaped) going in the right direction attempting to exit out of the complex but there were 3 cars blocking near the exit area with one hood up on the car. The driver had asked the people of the three cars if everything was OK and they said, "yeah, in a minute" and the defendant further described them as just yucking it up."

Hearing officer said, "yucking it up?" (giggling)

He replied in descritption as 3 bandana wearing chicano males and the hearing officer struck the statement as irrleveant.

Well, she then stated why were you standing in a handicap zone?
He replied, "all I did was pull into the parking space of handicap, stood for the moment wondering if the 3 males were going to move their car and the police officer drove up.

He stated that he tried to tell the officer that due to the 3 males blocking the car he was going to pull a u turn and go out the other direction.

Police action: wrote 2 tickets and told the 3 boys to "MOVE IT ALONG"!

The judge then said, "after hearing your side ! I find you guilty Your fines are levied and would you need a payment plan?" She added that he needs to take the correct protocols in addressing these type of issues by calling 911 because in this event, the defendant has broken the laws on two accounts and now will have to PAY for his mistake and lack of patience!

The reason why I find that funny is, " HE'S A DOCTOR!" A Payment Plan!!!! As Judge Milian would say, "Time for some ROUGH JUSTICE!"

You'll never see me doing a U turn or waiting in a handicap spot!!!!

By the way, my case was dismissed!

If the entrance has access to public property then you can be nailed but I think you were trying to say private property.

The laws still apply there Lam......if you commit a crime it's a crime. I was banging a 16 year old and thought I would get away with it because it was private property......the cop said no

Some parking lots are actually registered public roads, have to be careful cause you can get nailed for breaking the 10 or 15MPH speed limit. Also private property that is open to the public is considered public property for traffic purposes.

that's a totally different scenario. I'm talking about Motor Vehicle Laws and Regs statutory rape is under criminal laws & regs.
