Governor of California and relay runner for the Olympic Games.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, 62, will hand the Olympic torch off to Sebastian Coe, two-time Olympic gold medalist runner, on Friday morning, February, 12, 2010 the day the games start. Others who have carried the torch during this 106-mile relay include hockey player Walter Gretzky and astronaut Julie Payette,.

The Republican Governor of California is married to the Democrat Maria Kennedy Shriver, i.e. the Boston Kennedy family. The Governor is famous for much more than his political career.

Governor Schwarzenegger is considered among the most important figures in the history of bodybuilding. His legacy is commemorated in the Arnold Classic annual bodybuilding competition.

He owns gyms and fitness magazines and has presided over contests and award shows. He wrote a monthly column for the bodybuilding magazines, Muscle & Fitness and Flex. He is now executive editor of both magazines, which agreed to donate $250,000 a year to the Governor's physical fitness initiatives. The magazine MuscleMag International has a monthly two-page article on him, and refers to him as "The King." He has written books and had a successful movie career starring in many films including Twins.

His bodybuilding career includes being the seven time winner of IFBB Mr. Olympia, 1970–1975, 1980. The Governor has admitted to using steroids during his bodybuilding days.

In May 2004 and 2007, he was named as one of Time's 100 people who help shape the world.
