Um, let's see.....beating another human being while they are held in the deplorable, inhumane conditions of their captivity vs. allowing two gynetically miscreated individuals who are unable to procreate to form a marital union....Oh, oh, and to receive all benefits on the taxpayer's nickel...... Nah, I don't think people of the future will question this...not the heterosexual ones, anyway.

This brings to mind the scene from the movie "Misery" when she hobbled her captive writer. She explained that to keep slaves from running away, they would hobble them.

Of course some people would, just like some black people would probably change their skin color if they could because of how many advantages caucasions have. However the advantages granted to white people, heterosexual people, males etc, are the problem. If we were to even out the playing field then no, I do not think people would feel the need to do such a thing. It starts with structural and administrative changes which then lead to changes in mindset and attitude.

Look at slavery. At the time it was abolished around half of our country's population still supported it, but the legislation was put into place anyways and slowly but surely the mindset changed.

I see no economical advantage in having more homos.
