Smoothy on Belief Systems and Ideologies

I posed this question in another thread, and would like to get right to the core, the nucleus of that entity which we have come to know as Big Smoothy. With this said, I respectfully ask the following:

So, what does Big Smoothy believe in?

    Sir, you have the floor.

I believe that Big Smoothy is a douche bag that is full of shit ideologies.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

I believe he shits his pants at least once a week....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I believe in self-respect, and respecting other people and all living things.

Some of the principles I attempt to live, honestly, come from Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

I do believe in the concept of Karma, in general.

These beliefs and values are from an individual belief system and individual actions, and are not tied to any organization.

Thanks for the questions and feel free to ask more.

Again, Cap, my BF is at 10%, and I'm not Jewish. Animals? Not interested.

I dont eat candy. Never have. No soda pop, either.

I did ask you 'Cap (may I call you Captain?) about your experience in Vietnam.

You said you have been around the place.

When and where? Just curious. I think you've been around. Merchent Marine? Navy?

    I'm curious.

    Hugs, Smoothy.

Believe it or not, this was not intended to be a trap, nor a hate-fest, although I shouldn't have expected much else ....and yes, I find your views to be a major pain in the ass....However, my intentions were to better understand your obvious, let's say extreme dislike for all religions. I don't understand how you could outline the ideals of your personal 'belief system'...ideals and principles on which most religions are based...yet hate religion or those who are religious.
Would it be safe to say that you are one of those who is disgusted with what Man has done to these concepts via the organization of religion? More of an anti-establishment thing? Because, believe me, even those of us who choose to follow different faiths ain't always excited about how we've bastardized what was intended to be pure and transcendent. I mean, anyone with a little grey matter between their ears questions things....I think the difference is that people of faith tend to hang on a bit longer...because somebody has to.

You do know that Covey is a polygamist, racist Mormon who bows down to Joseph Smith, don't you?

If this stays civil, this could be an interesting thread.

Most know that on average, I am conservative, but I like to hear different opinions on things. I always try to keep an open mind. When you close it for good, that is when things go to shit.

Ironic that he adheres to many of the teachings of a devout Mormon. 7 Habits remains one of the most profound self-development books to this day.

I highly respect Steven Covey. In fact, I'm a member of his forum, and occasionally watch the videos he produces.

I like his concepts of character and interdependence.

One of my favorites is the Law of Harvest.

Remember, Covey does not push his religion on anybody in the 7 Habits. He does mention the concept of spirituality and that is fine.
