Thread: Can sex offenders be rehabilitated?

I am going to say no. Very unlikely.

I going to go with "no" for the real offenders.

However...do keep in mind that quite a few of the "sex offenders" are, for example:

1. An 18 year old guy that slept with a 17 year old girl that he's been dating, and sleeping with, for over 3 years.
2. A couple that was caught having sex in a public place.
3. A guy that took a piss in public.

And so on.

i come from Malaysia where they execute pedophiles, these group of people have absolutely no chance of rehabilitation.

Is it possible for these people to never offend again? yea, I think it is possible. I don't know any statistics for repeat offenders, but I've got to imagine that it is pretty high. Something like that has now progressed into a compulsion, or addiction. I'm of the opinion that if they are released into society we should take extraordinary measures to ensure they never offend again. active and continuous monitoring systems should be legal. as well as implanting little miniature electrodes in their penises that shock the shit out of them if they go near schools and such.

Hell no, same reason men and women continue dating even after getting their hearts broken a thousand times, these freaks sexual appetite has been re-programmed, and sex is a very deep instinctual program and when that becomes corrupted it's like a damaged boot-record on a hard drive, you either wipe the whole disc or destroy it. Once these people get their jollies off doing something wrong they want to go back again and again for their reward, and even if they go to prison for ever and get the best therapy ever their sexual desires are just too deep for any possibility of scrubbing it out.....

I don't consider those people offenders.

There was a 20/20 special last night on the rehabilitation system for sex offenders and the general consensus seems to be that while experts believe they can be rehabilitated, thus far the system has failed to do so.

Nope, shoot them. It'll make the world safer and save taxpayer money.

I'm all for turning those sickos into eunuchs, full eunuchs, no twig nor berries....and if they fondled a child take their hands too.....we can tie a hammer to their stubs and get some labor out of them....
