yes, and many of them actually get off on killing people which is why they joined and went into an infantry unit.

i hope the one guy going "c'mon let us shoot" when they're trying to load the injured man into the van shoots himself in shame. doesn't sound one bit like he cares who he is shooting or why he just wants to kill someone. he is not a soldier, he is not a man, he is a fucking retard, a disgrace.

wouldn't just one clear brief second of COMMON SENSE tell those men if the group on the ground were doing anything wrong they would show some shred of fear at being in the range of fire instead of calmly walking around unconcerned with the circling helicopter above them?

As much as I appreciate the military I have to admit that it attracts a certain type of individual that on the whole we would all want to see locked away in a padded cell. The gung-ho types who think it's their legacy to be some badass old world warrior, if they could they'd collect the teeth of people they kill, hostile or otherwise. Yes even in the Navy we had these guys, one gunners mate I recall was always talking about wanting to get into a situation so he could see if he could decapitate someone with the .50 cal, boooo-ya right in the adams apple watch his throat explode and his head do a cartwheel and land at his feet.

I could never be certain if theses types were demented or just so scared they'd panic in the moment that they were just trying to psyche themselves up. When I was on the search and seizure crew we had a guy who went out and bought official SWAT pants and had 4 knifes strapped all over. He wanted to slit someones throat and feel the warm blood pour over his hand, I imagine to him it would feel like a hot load after a jerk session and he'd probably get off on it....

I don't think the helicopter was very close to them, look at when the rattle of the gun starts and the bullets don't hit for another second. Plus I was snuck up on by a silent copter in the Navy, we were on Ford Island doing morning PT when out of nowhere a black heli came up from behind a building, zoomed over our heads and then dropped behind a cluster of trees silent again. It was amazing how quiet it was, I'd been so used to the loud Seahawks you could hear hundreds a yards away and that thing popped up a couple hundred feet away and just heard a high pitched whirring of engine....

The sad thing is that everyone had time to assess the situation and they just jumped to conclusions that the telephoto lens on the camera was an RPG, all it took was a moment to take a good look and see that....

unfuckingfathomable disregard for human life. stunning in it's sheer stupidity.

If this is our tactic then we might as well drop a small nuke on them and save time and money doing the exact same thing on a slower timeline.....

How do you know that these guys werent engaged with the US troops on the ground? Whats a pack of guys running around Bagdad for? With reporters embedded. Dont assume.

Its true some think killing is a game and itsfun.. when someone is shooting at you from all directions and shit is blowing up around you. its not like the movies..sometimes shit seems to go in slow motion that when you know something bad just happened.

I have all the respect in the world for you Robert, but in your time in the Army, were you in a combat unit in combat situations? I don't think a leg should pass judgement on the guys doing the real soldiering.

I can't view videos at work, but I will assume that said video is of our soldiers performing some sort of human rights violation and/or unwarranted violence. It's terrible that these things happen. However know one really knows or understands the psychological impact of being in almost constant fear of life and limb, coupled with terrible living conditions, coupled with being apart from everyone and everything you could give two shits about, coupled with getting no support from arm-chair americans that love to talk about freedom without actually doing ANYTHING to ensure its continuance...well, I think you see where I am going with this.

I am not excusing the actions here or any atrocities for that matter, but I am saying that a lot of people need to stop quarterbacking from Main Street USA in their comfy living rooms.

I completely support our troops. Are their some scumbags in the military? Of course. Let me know when you have figured out a way to massively recruit people who are willing to take lives in defense of the nation without letting in some fruit loops and you are the winner.

Several unarmed men were shot in broad daylight in an open courtyard because our highly trained soldiers can't tell the difference between cameras and guns. Honestly just seems like they were anxious for a little excitement. It was NOT a combat situation where they had to make a fast judgment. They were sloppy and inexcusably careless. Maybe before a "soldier" sees combat his zits should have at least cleared up.

Sounds awful. I will check the vid out when I get home. If it was truly that one-sided I hope the soldiers are reprimanded. I stand by my point of withholding judgement until the story is clear. For all we know, these guys could have lost a bunch of friends to a car bomb these guys planted the day before and are a little unhinged. Seeing your friends die can mess you up a little.

Not making excuses, I am just saying that you never know what could be the real story.

Okay, I made that comment in haste, before watching the video. It was clear that these men were somewhat exuberant and an excessive amount of force was possibly used in this case. However, as long as no Americans or any of our allies were injured, then I believe they should be given a pass considering that they are fighting for your freedom. Furthermore, if potential insurgents believe that the US military will shoot first and ask questions later, they will be more reluctant to attempt an attack. So, something good may have come out of this misunderstanding after all.

Accidents happen. Civilians and even friendly troops get killed, That is war and anybody who thinks otherwise lives in fantasy land. I feel that those guys couldn't wait for the right time to blow shit up. They were way to trigger happy.

However, I don't believe that those troops acted in cold blood. I really think it was an accident. I wouldn't bring them up on charges or even discharge them from the military, but I would make damn sure that those guys don't have a weapon in their hands ever again.

Do you know how bad that shit looks to the rest of the world. Videos like that make vulnerable people join extremest organizations. If I were a family member of one those people shot, I would dedicate my life to the total destruction of the US. Put yourself in in the place of the family of the 15 or so people gunned down.

It is no wonder you have so many people trying to blow us up. And brain dead dicks like the OP add fuel to the fire.
