the short answer is no it doesn't cover everyone...and it odesn't start until 2014 but your paying the taxes for it now...don't be one of these people that calls an insurance company and asks about obama free health care

Only if you're mexican, you still have to pay cab or bus fare, plus the cost of hiring the coyote to dump you in the desert to either survive or die of dehydration

oh and it's mandatory to stand in the waiting room and bitch about how long you have been waiting for your free medical treatment....

That doesn't matter. The bill prevents a practitioner from checking the citizenship of a patient.

No one does that anyway. Health care practioners are not law enforcement officers, we have a hippocratic oath to help the ill and sick and dying. The Emergency room or doctor's hospital do not check citizenship.

I know, but we don't routinely check citizenship for any care we render.

I'm sure many of my cash payers may be illegal immigrants, there are a lot of Canadian, African, Georgian Russians, illegal immigrants here in Atlanta along with the Latin American ones.

My 99 year old grandmother has an illegal Georgia woman living with her whose student visa expired mid way through her nursing school, she had to take a year off to earn cash to pay the tuition for next year.

It would mean more beaurocratic nightmares for us and its already bad and will get worse. I know for a fact that many of these illegals have social security numbers they have somehow acquired. We just are not policing agents.

There's a Mexican Internist with a clinic not far from me who's whole practice is set up solely to treat illegals. He only accepts cash. I've heard that cat's waiting room is packed at all hours of the day. I wonder how this bill is gonna effect docs like this.
