I watched a couple episodes. It seems like it's violence just for the sake of violence. Bloody violence doesn't bother me, but it's like that's what the show is about.

Just started watching it on Monday on Netflix streaming & am halfway through.. really awesome show. I watched the beginning of the first episode a while ago, but thought it just seemed like a 300 rip off. Gave it another chance this week & I'm hooked.

Baboon: the nudity seems that way too... not that I mind it, but I could do without all the swinging dicks.

Rome on HBO was like that, dicks everywhere, but I guess since it's premium cable it's expected or they are just a basic cable channel...just like Treme for no reason they had Steve Zahn's flabby butt cheeks and ballsack.....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I have seen every episode and there's LOTS of women naked. In comparison, there's very little male full nudity. (Trust me, I'm lookin' for it.) I think the guys are just freaked out about the dicks that are more impressive than theirs.

The guy who plays Crixus (Manu Bennett) is allegedly being talked about by bodybuilders as having a pretty good set of muscles on him. True or not?

I dont give a flying shit if someones dick is bigger than mine... I just dont care to see it.

Just read that the season 2 is postponed indefinitely because the guy playing spartacus has cancer.... Pretty weird: Stars from Two of my favorite shows have non hodgkins lymphoma...the other being michael hall from dexter.

Yeah, they seemed to end that show really suddenly..the end was rushed. At least HBO let them tie up most lose ends.. Unlike the raping they did to carnivale

According to modern thought (crap), this makes you both a homophobe and a closet gay.

At the very least it shows a uneasiness towards the human body with a dash of shame.

It's too bad so many people teach their kids that the bare human form is something to be ashamed of. My parents didn't run for a towel to cover up if they saw my brother or myself. Likewise, I air dried after bath time. To this day I prefer air drying to a towel, especially if you have a ceiling fan or a box fan to stand in front of.

I was being sarcastic. These days you can't dislike something without it somehow being a shortcoming of your own. Which is bullshit.

I don't like to watch shlong, either. Unless, of course, it's being used on a hot chick (or shooting a load on her), but then I'm not watching for the dick, I'm watching for the hot chick. Watching a bunch of guys walk around with their tackle hanging out is no more attractive to me than watching an fat woman walk around naked.

This is silly. I said the show could do without male nudity, in jest, and now im potentially gay, a homophobe, and ashamed/uneasy with the human body.

Side note... Whats the point in air drying versus using a towel? Just curious.

So he can jerk himself off without getting it on the towel while watching Spartacus without a dash shame.

Sure, that is often true in many things. But, nudity is much much more complicated due to the deep seated psychological origins. You can't deny that shame of nudity is ingrained rather than natural and affects us somewhere at a core level. Why else would nearly everyone have the same dream of going to school naked, but you don't realize it until you get there and you are embarrassed.

So many people can't separate the sex organs from sexual thought. It is to the point that some poor sap can be classified as a sex offender for taking a piss too close to a school. OMG! The penis is going to scar a child for life!

I wasn't attacking busyLivin, either. I haven't even seen this show, but all I have heard about was the cock and balls from like 50 people I know. Who gives a shit, is the show any good? Is acting and directing any good?

The human form is pretty awesome, even if it has swinging cock on it.
Do you think this stuff is gross?

Filming will start soon. Unfortunately without Whitfield.

Ailing “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” actor Andy Whitfield has been replaced on the second season of the Starz series while he battles a recurrence of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. In his stead will be chiseled actor Liam McIntyre, who appeared on the HBO series “The Pacific” but is best known for his TV work in his native Australia. According to a release from the network, Whitfield approved of the move. “Since no one can really replace Andy, we realized that we should instead find an actor who can truly lead Spartacus forward,” Starz president and CEO Chris Albrecht said in a statement. “It was important to us to have Andy endorse the idea of recasting this part, which he did in the same heroic manner that he’s dealt with his whole ordeal. And that, coupled with our fortune in finding a young actor with the gladiator credentials and the acting ability of Liam, makes it easier for us to keep this hit franchise going.” The series’ second season is scheduled to restart production this spring in New Zealand. In the meantime, “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena,” a prequel, debuts on Starz this Friday, January 21
