    Jon Voights letter to Obama

    hmmm........

An open letter from actor Jon Voight to President Obama:
    June 22, 2010
    President Obama:
You will be the first American president that lied to the Jewish people, and the American people as well, when you said that you would defend Israel, the only Democratic state in the Middle East, against all their enemies. You have done just the opposite. You have propagandized Israel, until they look like they are everyone's enemy — and it has resonated throughout the world. You are putting Israel in harm's way, and you have promoted anti-Semitism throughout the world.
You have brought this to a people who have given the world the Ten Commandments and most laws we live by today. The Jewish people have given the world our greatest scientists and philosophers, and the cures for many diseases, and now you play a very dangerous game so you can look like a true martyr to what you see and say are the underdogs. But the underdogs you defend are murderers and criminals who want Israel eradicated.
You have brought to Arizona a civil war, once again defending the criminals and illegals, creating a meltdown for good, loyal, law-abiding citizens. Your destruction of this country may never be remedied, and we may never recover. I pray to God you stop, and I hope the people in this great country realize your agenda is not for the betterment of mankind, but for the betterment of your politics.
With heartfelt and deep concern for America and Israel,

    Jon Voight

Funny letter, he must have been drunk when he wrote it.

On a side note, fuck Israel.

I seriously can't stand it when celebrities start believing that their opinion matters to the populace. i don't think anyone here would confuse me with an Obama supporter, but i can't stand it when celebrities use their name to get their political opinions heard. i don't care what jon voight thinks the same that i don't give a damn what Ben Affleck or Matt Damon think. I think his daughter has some game by actually going out and doing something.

I wasn't aware reading lines of a script made people so knowledgeable about politics. I think all journalist should be required to take acting classes.
do you think it works the other way. Do you think politicians should be giving John Voight pointers on how to really nail that frightened look before the snake eats him?

That shit would be funny. Obama walks onto the set of the latest shitty Hollywood production to tell some seasoned actor that he is not feeling the scene, and make him do it like 50 times until it meets Obama's expectations.

    That shit would be funny.

I couldn't find the video clip of the Film Actors Guild in Team America: World Police, so here's just the quote:

Janeane Garofolo: As actors, it is our responsibility to read the newspapers, and then say what we read on television like it's our own opinion.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

brilliant. I didn't think of this before, but actors and politicians are very similar. Both read from a script of other peoples words and have to give a believable performance even though they have no about the subject they are talking about. The only difference is if actors screw up they get another take. When politicians do it, it shows up all over CNN and we make fun of them.

Actors and politicians. Paid liars. Obama should totally be a director in films after this gig is up.

Ronald Reagan comes to mind....seamless transition... Clint Eastwood was mayor of Carmel, CA or someplace like that.....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
