Back in the Swing of Things

I am sure most people probably don't remember me, its been a very long while since I popped in and said Hi! But yea, after a couple years of not giving a shit I am back into trying to get healthy. I still have a lot to read up on, but I have a few concerns. Everything here seems to be about supplements, and I am hoping to keep things relatively clean. I don't expect to compete, I just want to get in shape, eat more healthily and just feel better about myself.

Gyms have never worked out for me, I find it difficult to concentrate, as well as set aside the time to make it happen. I have been keeping myself active for about an hour each day (usually a full body strengthening routine) for almost a month now and am definately feeling better about where I am headed.

My largest blockade currently is preparing for my workout. I want to avoid supplements, but I need something for pre-workout which will keep me going a little longer. I feel as if I burn out too quickly, lose too much energy too quickly. So, if anyone can point me in the right direction (sans supplements), it would be appreciated. I am also interested in what I should do post workout for regaining energy.

I have read somewhere that a workout is more effective than some sort of cardio. I have always had issues with cardio, I have a decent burst, but I usually can't sustain a run (lung issues). So, if anyone has suggestions as to where I can look for some alternative home-type workouts that would also be appreciated.

    Let my education begin!

    Muscle Girl's back!!!!!!!!!

    Partayyyyyyyyyyy

Have a couple cups of coffee before your workout. Most of the really affective pre-workout drinks you can buy contain caffeine. Skip the high prices at GNC and the other supp stores and just get yourself a big ole' Starbucks.
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

You're a swinger huh? We like swingers round these parts.....

What did you do with GR81 seems like he disappeared around the time you did....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I usually have a coffee right before my workout, but I feel like its still not enough, maybe I will increase it by a cup. Any suggestions as to what type of food? I have been having oatmeal in the morning, and then after the workout I blend up some frozen fruit and have that.

I am a big believer of the one girl one guy thing, so no, not a swinger, sorry to disappoint. As for Gr81, I have no clue, we sorta stopped talking.

    Hi and Welcome back

Add a couple shots of expresso to your coffee. The extra caffeine may help.

I've been reading alot of journals and alot of good info with real world results.

    I do.

I made your avatar or gave the idea for it. At least inspired the "wet member" part when we were doing the "hard member" thing.
