That was awesomely graphic, thanks for sharing. Strange that you dried up so quickly, not enough fluids?
I have thought about donating blood, but haven't gone and done it. Not huge on needles and such.

I donate blood to the Red Cross every 56 days or so, sometimes I go a little more. Today in St Louis the Cardinals baseball team were sponsoring the blood drive at a local recreation center. I went as always to donate blood and since my wife is a huge fan she got to meet one of the players (McClellan or something) and get a T-Shirt. He was real cool and took a pic with her and signed the shirt, which made her happy.
During the blood drawing my vein stopped giving up blood, so they turned and twisted it to get it going again without success. They had it too deep and I could feel it hitting lots of things besides my vein. They had to pull it out and asked if they could do the other arm instead. I obliged and they were nearing the end and it stopped again!
They asked my permission to restick the other arm again in a different spot to get the last little out and I said yes. Because without having all of the blood properly they would have to toss my donation all together.
The lady started to prep my 3rd spot and told me to squeeze the ball to get my vein to pop. They hadn't fully gauzed the first spot and when I pumped the ball my blood sprayed out!!
You should have seen they're faces! I was grabbing paper towels and holding it down while the blood poured out all over my arm and hand. I laughed the whole time, and I'm sure from a distance I looked like a complete psycho.
Anyway I did finally finish and get the right amount of donation out and I'm fine. Well, except for a bit of bruising.
It was just really funny and I had to share.

Just a girl.... Looking for muscles!!

I have o negative so they buy my blood since it is rare

I've had the flow slow down and the nurse said one reason might be that the needle was touching the vein's wall.
I'd probably be covered in ink if they didn't disqualify you for a year following any tattoo. I'm at about four gallons donated right now.
Cool bloody story.![]()

Back when I was in grade 11 our biology teacher got five students to volunteer to take blood from five faculty volunteers. I really cant remember the point of this and still don't see one but that doesn't matter. I was one of the volunteers and my subject was the school secretary. My teacher put the band on her upper arm and pumped it up. He than gave me the needle so I took it and stuck it in a vein. I started drawing the blood and a little bit was pooling up on the outside of the needle. That didn't seem right to me so I pulled the needle right out. A stream of blood about a meter high started squirting out of her arm. Three girls fainted and a bunch of people ran out of the classroom. My teacher was running around trying to find something for the blood to land on and ended up using his coat. I guess he ended up putting to much pressure on the arm band pump which was why the blood started shooting everywhere. I thought the whole thing was fucking hilarious. I don't think I'll ever understand why our teacher wanted us to practice taking blood though.

Haha maybe, I'm not sure I'd want to be shooting them right into the bloodstream though. I hear it makes you go into a super roid rage fit for three days and when you come too you don't remember a thing. Kinda like the Hulk.
i don't think they will take my blood due to my tattoos.
Sometimes the truth can rape your entire belief system.
I heard it is easier to get drunk after giving blood or a vampire. Makes sense. Less blood in my alcohol veins.

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I believe it's the same across the U.S. at least.

^It was a detective show but heavy on the romance. Not bad.
But definitely not as hard as you describe your character.
