I actually very rarely go out anymore. My alchy days have been over for like 3 years.

Again, you need to figure out how much money you should have at the end of every month. Start getting that debt paid down. Credit cards first then your uncle. The student loans are probably a low interest rate so don't worry about them for now. Work on that first. I don't know what your goals in life are but either way, it's always good to be debt free.

But, I know loads of people who complain about being broke, people who spend unnessecarily all the time. They just are so unaware of the money they are spending. I don't get it.

They say they have no money for basics, but then when an unprecedented sum of money comes to them, they spend it on luxury items. If they have surplus money (money beyond paying for rent and food), they just spend it instantly. They say they live paycheck to paycheck, but they do it to themselves.

This is me 100%. I live in the same house with the same cars, and the same bills as I did when I was in the Army making 18k a year. Last year I made 120k and havent made less than 85k in 4-5 years. My checking account is currently negative 8 bucks. I have no idea what the hell is wrong with me. I just buy every damned thing that I want. I have 3 Harleys, despite not being able to figure out how to ride more than 1 at a time. I have awesome toys, yet I struggled with the light bill last month. I have no debt, but will blow through 2 grand on a good weekend.

I have got to get it together.
