oh boy this might become interesting.

dude, I wouldnt care about the money if MG customer service weren't such rude people. Apparently my twin went to walmart and retrieved the money i sent. MG won't say where the money was sent to or who authorized it or what location but I am the one that done it.

First they tell me they will investigate and it will be taken care of within 72 hours.Then these pricks told me that I have to get the local authorities involved because they don't handle these matters. They won't give the clerk reference numbers for the refund or a location either. oh btw, its back under investigation now and it's gonna take 2 weeks.

all you need is the reference number and the name of the person that sent the money to pick it up. but i don't understand what you're saying happened. did you send a moneygram with them once and someone used that info to send a fake one?

btw the walmart moneycards are bullshit. and if your money is stolen you need to write them a letter to dispute the transaction. i alerted them that 3 amounts trying to be drawn on my card were fraudulent. at that time the purchases were pending... i got the same shitty cs but didn't give up till a guy actually put the money back as available on my card and i went n withdrew it. a couple days later after i signed off on the card i noticed the two biggest amounts has posted. fucking retards. but the guy gave me money from a "courtesy fund" and now walmart needs to fight to get the money back not me as it should be because THEY allowed the money to be paid out AFTER me explaining the one small purchase was used to verify the card and then the thief made two big purchases with it. walmart only denied the small purchase.

call back and ask to speak with someone higher up. it usually will get results. i threatened to write an editorial and told them our paper covers 68% of the state. i'm not sure if that helped but i had my money shortly after that.

since i'm half lite and bored I will explain in detail my situation:

on july 8th , my bday which i will celebrate until this friday, i sent money to my friend, my friend that sends me things in the mail, my friend was unable to collect the money. I was informed to resend to my other friend. I get a call this morning that my other friend is unable to collect funds because they tell him the MG has been canceled.

INVESTIGATION:

I call money gram customer service. They tell me that on that same day, @ 730pm someone @ walmart canceled that money gram and that a refund was received. They tell me that I am the one that canceled it and I was the one that received the refund. It was canceled at the same location, walmart, and was done by the same individual that originally sent the money. I go to wal mart. Talk to the same lady. They have no record of this. They call money gram and get the same story...that wal mart canceled the MG and refunded the money. Money gram asks to speak with me and begin to question my relationship with receiver. I tell them charity and they say contact local authorities because they don't deal with these matters. okay, fine..... I ask for the reference number for the refund transaction and they refuse to tell me or wal mart. I was told they would let me know in approx. two weeks.

I call MG customer service again and was informed that when they issue a refund that they have to speak with someone before a refund can be issued and that they did speak to someone at wal mart.

Wal mart tells me that they can not do anything.

I talk to the store manager and am now waiting on a call back. He has 2 hours before I lose my patience.

I'm beginning to think a person at wal mart canceled the MG and thought they could get away with the money.

either way i told the manager this is not my fault and i want the money back. They can take it up with money gram.

well my money was stolen the day after i reloaded the card at a walmart. my son was buying stuff in the sporting goods dept so i did it right there while i waited for him to shop. i suspected someone at walmart did it too because they used almost exactly what was on my card... there was no attempt to overspend, no denied transaction. it sounds to me like a walmart employee canceled the moneygram and pocketed the cash. your receipt should have the time, call the police and get the security tapes for that time frame. or threaten to, maybe that's enough. tell them this will be in an editorial tomorrow, that people need to know how easy it is to lose thier money at walmart with moneygram AND how ridiculously hard it is dealing with the theft after the fact.

the police can review the tapes, make sure they don't disappear or get erased so maybe that is your best bet.

yeah but i think i know what roid is dealing with. it will be hard because, well he knows and i know wat he means. aahhh man that sucks. sorry bro. i use walmart all the time for mg iam going to be watching for that now. maybe thats why alot of people wont take mg. if this is wat iam thinking. dont they give you a paper slip with the numbers on it in case something should go wrong? i dont know it never happened to me but iam very sorry roid making fun of it i thought you were kidding. very sorry bro. i wouldnt of posted that had i thought it was true.

finally got through to someone at money gram who is willing to help.
Basically he said on order to cancel a money gram someone has to call them and give them information from my driver license. Well it just so happened that since i had to cancel and resend the money gram someone at walmart already had all the information they needed to cancel my other MG without me knowing. SO...........long story short. The money gram rep told me 100% without a doubt that someone did call from wal mart and cancel the MG and that a refund was issued.

BTW, wal mart still won't go look at their security cameras or count their cash. Damn doesn't that seem a little evasive.

Eiterway I will get my money back even if money gram has to refund it again.

Next time you speak to those Walmart a-holes, ask them if the State Attorney's office has been in touch with them yet. Under any other circumstances, the State Attorney's office would have been the first place you should have called. But if Walmart even suspects that you've involved that office, they'll behave with markedly more respect, I think.

i really don't think the cops would care what the money order was FOR. the recipient never got it and isn't involved. they would merely focus on the thief at walmart, security cameras etc. if anyone asks say you wrote charity because people never pay back loans. you should make sure the little slime that did this gets busted.

This is one time where I would really like to see someone get into trouble. I can tolerate almost anything other than someone taking my money because all that person would have to do is ask and I would give it to them, even a stranger.

well well.............Money Gram is apparently just giving me the run around. Now they are telling me someone in california walked into a wal mart with my ID and a reference number and picked up the cash the same day as I sent it.

I was told to go and fax a statement to money gram with a copy of my ID and that they would then call me and give me another reference number so i could go and pick up the money.

Today..............we are still investigating the case which could take up to two weeks.

I guess in the end the is absolutely nothing I can do.

It will work out. Just horrible customer service. It's more annoying that they have the attitude of they just don't care and they want you to know that they don't care.

Finally got the money back yesterday.

Explanation: I have a common name and it's easy to trick money gram representatives into giving out information on transactions.
