And now that the well is capped it seems the oil companies are in full swing to recuperate their losses with a 15cent gas hike already in only the the last 5 days. It makes me sick the government has done ZERO to resolve our dependence on oil since the damn oil embargo in the 70's . If anything they've made it more difficult to get off of it. I do like the Chevy Volt though. Too bad it costs so damn much.
Weight lifting is like " Mind over Matter". If my body doesn't mind---the weight doesn't matter!!!!!

The government depends on an oil based economy just as much as any other organization...they aren't going to solve the problem. The solution is going to be solved by some young garage shop hobby scientist (like a B. Gates or H. Ford).

I too would love to a Volt or Leaf, but its just not economically feasible...even after the giant rebate. The fact that the battery(s) need to be replaced every 7-10 yrs is a MAJOR hinderence. Those giant lithium ion batteries are almost as expensive as a new V8 engine. Plus in 4-7yrs the batter life gradually becomes weaker and you end up getting even less max miles per charge...and while charging it is cheaper than gasoline, you can expect your electric bill to shoot up due to nightly charges (that take 8-10hrs). If you live in a coal electricity sourced state, then you kiss away the "green" factor as well. Regardless, I hope a bunch of consumers still buy these vehicles so the auto companies will reap the profits and hopefully reinvest some of the funds into more efficient vehicles. Getting 100 or so miles per charge just doesn't cut it.
