    Router Connections

OK. I have a linksys router. I secured the connection, it is WPA2. I have access with one of my laptops but the other doesn't want to connect. It just says it can't connect and when i try to diagnose the problem it tells me that it can't be diagnosed.

How do you give a personalized name to the router ?

You have to go down to the state courthouse and pulls it's birth certificate, find it's original MAC address security number and then submit form WD-40 indicating it's original name and the name you wish to change it to along with valid reasoning for the name change....

A setting for SSID I beleive is what your looking for.

Depending on the location if there are multiple linksys routers in your area it could be connecting to one that isn't yours and that's why it would give you the error.

Change the SSID and give it a try. I also had problems with Tivo with anything other than WEP, but that was always with Series 2 units, the new ones may have fixed the issues.

The laptop having issues may not connect via WPA 2. You may have to use WPA. Google "setup linksys router" and you'll be straight.

Yes I have an older laptop that forces me to have to use WEP, but only when I use it, if I'm not using it I switch it back to it's high security level and just use my netbook and iphone....
