    How to bypass a firewall

Where I'm currently working they have a firewall on peer-to-peer sites. They also have proxy sites blocked too. How can I get around this so I can access Isohunt or something like that? They are using the Barracuda Web Filter.

You can use something like The Cloak (google 'The Cloak Bypass Firewalls') that should do the trick

Also, you might want to check out a website called YourFreedom. Its a similar kind of thing to TheCloak but is more reliable. Only problem is that you have to download it to your computer

They have ways of knowing that you bypass a firewall and you will be fired if they find out.

most likely the ports are blocked for those applications (p-to-p sites, etc.) by the firewall. you should try to find a proxy server to use to access those types of sites from work.

If a site is blocked, just let it go. Is it worth getting fired over? Good luck finding a new job in this market.

To be honest with you, it depends on the technology they are using. I have over 400 thousand workstations on my network and naturally we filter for just about everything: outside email, video, pics, p2p, social networking, usb drives in some cases, just about all .exe's--and I won't even go into our intrusion defense/detection and email.

That being said---there is ALWAYS a route around everything. Sometimes it is as simple as dydns to your machine at home or as sophisticated as a proxy on a usb drive.

The answer, however, was really given earlier when someone said it's simply not worth it...in this market.

Yah I agree. I found away around it but I haven't used it. I have way to much in student loans to pay off and I'm earning a hell of a lot more than the average person right now. Once next September comes closer than I'll go nuts.

As long as you can get to Ironmagazineforums.com what other website do you need....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Yeah, circumvent hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of technology to post on a bodybuilding forum and get fired. That's totally worth it.
