    Have you ever thought about investing that money, I would put at least half of it into some kind of investment, $300 a year is nice but wouldn't you like it to be making more for you?

    My wife spends 300 on a lazy saturday afternoon buying more of the same shit she has in her closet. But thats our mad money.... if we only had 13 grand sitting out there for our future, then i think i would want that money working a little harder for us.

    I was buying a bunch of Silver coins and bars, but once she started freaking out and thinking we were "going broke" I sold it. I'd like to buy gold, but $1200 an ounce!?

    buy a gold ETF instead...your don't actually have take possession of the gold, but its appreciate or depreciation is almost a perfect correlation to the price of gold minus the expense ration (usually 1%ish)
