I have wanted this for the past 10-15 years but I was always afraid as well, if you get it done just make sure they use the latest and greatest laser equipment on the market and you'll be fine. Honestly it was easy, the entire procedure took only 15 minutes. It's pretty rare these days with the current technology that anyone has issues or bad sides. As of right now (I had it performed about 8 hours ago) I am fine, seeing perfectly, no pain or discomfort, the worst part is you have to put 3-4 different types of drops in your eyes 4 times per day.

My gf's grandfather had it done when he was 86 and he was scared of going to any kind of doctor, he came out just fine with his big sunglasses on. He said the only thing he felt was a slight itchy feeling on his eyes like you get after swimming in a pool all day, it went away when he woke up the next morn...
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Nice. I guess I am lucky because I've never needed glasses. I am guessing that a lot of the risk that went along with this in the past have been reduced over the years (?).

my eyes were not bad, but I had to wear glasses for just about everything, watching TV, driving, working on the computer. for the past 10 years I have had prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses, and I started wearing glasses at 16, I am now 40.

yes, the entire procedure is done with two different laser machines that run off a program, not much room for human error like in the old days.

I got it done like 3 years ago, I would have paid three times what I did ($3500). I was about 20/300 and am now 20/20.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.
