So the Defense Department bought 9500 books with our tax money and then burned them.

And what are they going to do if he got an advance on 100,000 copies, buy all of them also? I love this country but it sure is getting pretty fucked up.

I donated a few Hunter S. Thompson and Henry Miller books along with some others to my ships library when I was in the Navy and our ultra-conservative XO had them thrown away in burn bags, luckily I was the one who was in charge of pulverizing the burn bag material while at sea(we use a huge 50 gallon garbage disposal like device thats pulps the paper and then flushes it to sea with the rest of the crap) and I saved them, along with several other books and gave them to the base library where he couldn't touch them....The military has it's own views of what personal freedoms are which I was one of the largest reasons I wanted out as soon as possible, the men fighting for all the freedoms we so enjoy barely have any freedoms at all....

I'm still waiting for someone to post the original up on the INET. After that there won't be any stopping it. This book is along the same scope as the 15,000 pages of documents posted about Afghanistan War showing the US Govt knew the war there was a lost/unwinable cause along with other know bits of information and some personal insights from the colonel. It's a shame our government uses the military as their own disposable risk game pieces.

Because the Petagon/DoD/gov is buying this book and burning/shredding it,

It's only causing more curiosity and interest - and now the book is a top seller on Amazon.

Worth noting is that this isn't the first time the US gov has bought books to shredd/burn them.

The US gov has done this with Pilger's books.

    Cool

If they were all the economic books that have landed us in debt, then so be it.

Shameful sight, us having to re-read books that made us broke, heck, it isn't the people, and corruption,() but some lame ass 2 percenters that wrote them, called "How to Jack the Americans, and get away with it"

    sick with it
