    Are your DVDs safe if....

Say you have some burnt DVDs and your expecting a shipment of new burnt DVDs. If you put your current burnt DVDs into a car and park the car on the street can the FEDs or any law enforcement search said car for DVDs if it is not your car, but someones who lives at the house of searching?

Say you cannot store burnt DVDs at a friends cause they don't know about your usage of burnt DVDs what would be the next best place to put these?

If DVDs are stored in a attic would the temp ruin these unopened DVDs?

I believe the answer to the searching would be yes. If LE has probable cause I think they can search anything or anywhere they want to. As for the attic it seems to me that could get hot and all items should be stored in room temperature without a lot of fluctuations in temperature.

Cops do what ever they want to. chances they will search your car are slim unless a neighbor saw you and ratted you out. There are millions of stash spots in your house...I have an old book that tells how to make stash spots....hollowing out table legs....hinged steps...false bottom things....wall sockets....there are millions of ways to hide shit.

If you get raided under a search warrant, it depends on what extent the warrant goes to. Probable cause will let them do most anything IF they have it. But to check your car...if it's not parked in your driveway or in your garage, the warrant has to say that they can check your car. If it's on your property, they can check it without it stating on the warrant. If they want to check your car that is parked elsewhere, they have to wait a few minutes until they can adjust the warrant....unless there is probable cause. Or so I've been told.

A locker at the mall, bus station, etc... In a dirty clothes hamper with a few pair of underwear you smear chocolate syrup in the crotch and lay right on top, no one will want to search that...add a little dab of ketchup for added effect....

Re: Are your DVDs safe if....

I admit. I'm trying to hide my butt plugs. Could I rent a UPS box and keep my plugs there while I have a new shipment in? Wouldn't want the FDA to see all my really cool butt plugs.

What's the ambient temp. in said attic...I wouldn't put it up there cause there are so many cool places to store stuff like this in your bathroom or elsewhere....

I used to stash my goods in the pockets of clothes hanging in my closet, last time I went through it for Goodwill I found the foil with 3 blotters I'd been looking for and 6 morphine tabs, not to mention my koa wood pipe with a lid so I can walk around pre-loaded...

Ya a attic wouldn't be the best place. Basically I want to be able to hide my burnt DVDs in case I get raided, they would find nothing and feel stupid. I don't know of a better place then a attic.

Ok so the scenario is you are storing illegal stuff in someone else's car that is parked on the street. If it's not your car, and you are not operating it, then you actually have no standing to object to an illegal search of the car. The person who owns the car could also consent to have the car searched, which you also can't object to.

But basically... stop bootlegging DVD's you cheap asshole. I hope you get effed over big time. Statutory damages against you will destroy any meager profit you will make (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statuto...t_infringement). Basically, the party who owns the copyright is entitled to at least $750 per act of infringement. Not to mention criminal penalties...

Say someone has roughly 15 CDs and other goodies, which are obviously not easy to hide. Would a security box in someone else's name be a OK place to keep your CDs? If you don't have anyones house to put said CDs at?
