Batman hits bottom, robs McDonald’s in Belmont

Holy cheeseburger, Robin. Batman’s a crook!

The Caped Crusader has turned from crime-fighter to Hamburglar, robbing a McDonald’s restaurant in Belmont on Tuesday night, police said.

A man wearing a Batman mask stormed the restaurant at 522 El Camino Real around 9 p.m. and demanded money from the restaurant manager, police said. He fled with an undetermined amount of cash from the restaurant’s office, police said.

The one-time hero seemed in desperate condition. Apparently struggling in this economy to make monthly payments on his slick Batmobile, the Dark Knight fled the crime scene in a silver, 2-door Honda, police said.

Question was also raised about Batman’s dental insurance. The restaurant manager told cops that the masked robber wore “false vampire teeth” during the raid, police said.

That the crook was only a Batman imposter is not being ruled out. The suspect’s description did not match that of billionaire Bruce Wayne. The crook was described as a Hispanic man standing 5-foot-10 inches to 6-feet tall and weighing between 215 and 240 pounds, police said.

He also wore a blue, hooded shirt and blue pants, police said.

Cops decided against using the Bat-Signal to lure the “World’s Greatest Detective” from his cave.

Rather, they’ve asked anyone with information regarding this robbery to contact Belmont Police Department investigators at (650) 595-7400.
