Well, Iowa isn't ready for same sex marriage, but who is surprised? Stuff like this happens on the coasts and eventually makes it's way inwards.

42% of voters are for gay marriage, it was like 33% 5 years ago and as older people die, support will grow. For the most part, this is a generational thing, within 5 years it will be universally legal and accepted. I'm sure the civil rights movement wasn't universally accepted right away, which goes to show you that just because people vote against something doesn't make it the wrong thing.

    And averages by state alone...

Notice a trend? And notice which state has the lowest acceptance of gay marriage.

wrong is wrong. I have no problem with utah being the state where voters are most against that. I have plenty of issues with utah, but that sure as shit isn't one of them. I fully expect the day to come that same sex marriage is legal here in the US. as long as it is coming from the voters and not being forced upon the people by judges legislating from the bench then I will find it acceptable

I hope you didn't take offense, I was just playing. While I am not religious, I can see how a religious person would be against this. That doesn't mean I think they are right, I just understand why.

Fag marriage is more an issue of civil liberties and discrimination than it is a political issue to be decided by voters. If we'd allowed the voters to decided if "separate but equal" should be upheld, we'd probably still be forcing niggers to sit on the back of the bus and have segregated schools.

There are some issues that shouldn't be left up to the whim of the masses and this is likely one of them. It'll ultimately end up being decided by the US Supreme Court and prolly should be. How about interracial marriage? If the voters here in AL decided that they were against interracial marriage, should my marriage be annulled since the wife is asian? Afterall, it's what the voters want. lol

I can't understand why what you just said is so hard to understand. You can't claim you are a free country if you don't treat all of the citizens equally. Naturally, the majority would take over everything if rules didn't keep them in check. Like I have said before. It is the freedom from persecution that will allow Christians to keep worshiping as they do now once they are in the minority.

They better hope that karma doesn't come knocking for its due.

That's what I said douche! I said it's an issue of discrimination and civil liberties that should be decided by the Supreme Court, not by mob rule (i.e. the voting masses). To not allow faggots the right to marry, they are being treated unequally.

You do realize that I was agreeing with you? I have a habit of starting a sentence with "you" but it doesn't literally mean you.

Dude if I went back to the little town in Texas where I graduated with my Japanese GF they would look at me like I'm a savage or something. Seriously, my cousin came back with a filipina wife who is gorgeous and I'd hear people say she was ugly or she smelled funny, calling her flip or she talked funny even though she was 3rd gen American her grandfather was born in Hawaii, she only spoke English too. One guy said she could eat corn on the cob through a picket fence, alluding to asians having buck teeth yet she has normal teeth and this guy had four false teeth...
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
