IMO it was nothing more than another attempt for a GOP politician to attack the Democratic POTUS as this border issue wasn't that big of an deal when GWB was POTUS.

It was a big ass deal when W was pres. That's why the immigration amnesty bill was voted down overwhelmingly to W's angst.

on paper it might have been but most of the tv press about the AZ Gov and didn't really start until Obama was POTUS. AZ Gov is super shady with that prison deal, her motives are not genuine.

George W was pro illegal alien when push came to shove. He's the one that originally denied the pardoning of the two border patrol agents for firing and hitting a Mexican Cartel member in the ass as he was fleeing. The border patrol agents spent 3 years in prison until Georgie pardoned them on his way out of The Office.

The border issue has never NOT been a problem, it just reached a boiling point and AZ came to their decision for SP1070 based less on monitoring illegal citizens as much as it was a desire to crack down on the Cartel and Cartel related crimes flooding across and ocurring on Amerian soil. The root of the whole SP1070 has nothing to do with Obama. Maybe you think its a new issue because SP1070 made national news, but I've been never not heard about the illegal alien problem since I've lived here in So Cal.

In the meantime, let's make sure all the illegals are welcomed into the US, while not having to pay taxes, getting "free" healthcare (that I help pay for - and I'm not wealthy and neither are they), getting a good free education for their illegal kids, paying in state tuition for higher education, and taking advantage of every other social program they can too.

I'd rather subsidize the wealthy (i.e. big business) than the poor lazy leaches who want to live of the taxpayers' dime, if someone has to be subsidized. Remember, when those big evil corporations (who employ most of us little guys) go under, we all pay one way or another. That being said, I'm not a fan of subsidies either way. This is Amerrka. You have the right to make that evil profit if you're successful and the right to collapse if you fail IMHO.

That being said, "illegal" immigrants are nothing but the victims of the fat, rich, industrialized nations who horde all of the world's wealth and resources, stealing it from the world's poor nations. We have raped their country long enough. The least we can do is pay for their kid's college. That is, if their kid doesn't drop out and join MS-13 first.

shouldn't hate on the illegals you would do exactly the same if you came from Mexico, there is no economy. not making excuses for them but if you have spent enough time in Mexico then you know the truth.n the blame should be on American business owners that employ them at reduced wages.

the drain by illegals on the economy and impact on the budget deficit are severely overstated by the right as usual. the truth is below from the CBO

If CA taxpayers don't pay for it, who will? At least they're willing to step up to the plate for immigrants.

Are you kidding me? should we just cede anything to Mexico b/c it was former territory over 150yrs ago? Wait....we should cede benefits to Spanairds, b/c CA used to be Spanish territory before that. Reparations have an expiration date and 150+yrs is definitely expired IMHO

I have no problem with CA giving non US citizens in state tuition as if they have been in CA high schools for 3 years. I didn't really understand the legislation till I spent some time reading it, but it makes sense. You can get in-state tuition after living in CA for 1 yr anyway, so if you grew up there (despite not being a US citizen) it makes sense you should get in CA resident benefits.....but claiming they should get benefits b/c it used to be Mexican territory 150yrs ago is off the edge

most don't understand that an educated person is more likely to be successful and/or productive in society, earn higher wages which increases tax revenues, commit less crimes, etc. they don't look at the whole picture and only see what they want which is typical of the ignorant.

Some folks just don't recognize sarcasm when they see it. That being said, I'd be perfectly fine with giving them back San Fracisco if they'd be willing to take it.
