Have you ever been on an anti-depressant?

It seems like everyone I talk to is either on an AD or is transitioning to anther one. Just wondering how many of us here have ever tried AD's for depression, anxiety, etc...

    Never.

Luckily, I've never had such issues or problems big enough that warranted ADs.

But perhaps the increase in Americans (not non-Americans) taking more ADs than ever before is because of Big Pharma marketing.

Are people now, more in need of these than 100 years ago?

Is society that much more hectic, compared to say 150 years ago?

Perhaps more stress, but easier? Harder.

Remember, many ailments are classified as a "disease" in America now, and pharmaceutical medicine is prescribed. Ideally it's a pill you take every day - for the rest of your life.

Heart burn is "acid reflux diseae." Apple cider gets rid of it, but you are prescribed a pill to take by your doctor.

I voted no for that reason.

I will say, I don't understand how some people could be on those all day/every day. Things that excite me normally don't excite me in the same way while on it. Things that make me down don't make me down. It helps depress depressed feelings but it depresses every single feeling - it just doesn't seem like real life.

couldn't agree with you more...my vote was no.

I would probably use a softer less pharma like drug to treat any depression if I had it...like marijuana

I think the problem has 3 main issues:

#1 - poor diets that lack sufficient Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids in the proper ratios and the related lack of daily exercise.

#2 - Bad parenting: depressed parents model poor cooping skills for their children. the cycle continues from the combination of unhealthy modeling and lack of proper nutrients

#3 - Big Pharm Marketing on TV

Yes. Zoloft for PTSD. (I can't sleep nights at all).

I don't take it though, marijuana works a hell of a lot better for this condition.

I truely belive that Ironmag has given me an outlet that allows me to express myself and alot of times that relaxes me. I just told someone last week in a PM that Ironmag is better than therapy and alot cheaper. I do self medicate with the big 3, but I do not take any prescribed meds.

Sorry minO, gotta spread some love around before I can rep ya again

It's everywhere, greed, lying, stealing, cheating just to get a slight edge over others.....my company just let 2 guys go for writing up invoices and then writing up Returned Merchandise slips and pocketing the money, they thought no one would find out, but they did and now they are out of work for a measly $1200 during the holidays and one guy just had a baby....I have never been motivated enough by money to want to steal it, I find it just as easy to work a little harder for it.....

Fuck dude this thread is making me want to go out in my car and hunker under the dash and smoke a toke on my peace pipe....no wonder we're all medicated we have to deal with the other 51% who are complete morons.....
