Lightbulb Secret to a smooth hangover – honey on toast

Scientists claim that the natural sweetener is a great way to help the body deal with the toxic effects of a hangover.
The Royal Society of Chemistry claim that the fructose in the honey – which is also found in golden syrup – is essential to help the body break down alcohol into harmless by-products.
The reason why hangovers are so painful is that alcohol is first broken down into acetaldehyde, a substance which is toxic to the body, claimed Dr John Emsley of the Royal Society.
This is then converted – using fructose – into acetic acid which is then burned during the body's normal metabolic process and broken down into carbon dioxide which is breathed out of the body.
Serving the honey on toast adds potassium and sodium to the meal which is also helps the body cope with the alcohol.

I'll be testing this out the day after boxing day. Hell I'll start a log.
I love getting high, I hate getting low, and I like to drive my truck down a muddy dirt road.

I'm a great believer in luck and I find that the harder I work, the more I have of it.

    Thanks for the report, min0.

Just to add my .02 cents, I drink water during longer drinking sessions. Last night I drank 3 liters during a drinking session that last about 7-8 hours. Taking small/medium drinks of the water occasionally.

I was drinking beer, 1 vodka tonic, and also had 3 swigs of Glenlivet 15 single malt.

I also ate before the drinking session, and at about 2/3rds into it.

But the big factor was that I took 2 vitamin B-complex vitamins during this Christmas Eve drinking session.

I take a full vitamin B-Complex pill, and break it in half, snapping it in half with my fingers. I take these vitamin B-complex (1/2 pill), in total 4 of them, over the period of 7-8 hours of drinking.

This morning, no hangover, whatsoever. I got my work done, my errands and I felt and feel great.
Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.

My secret is to drink a Power aide right before I go to bed, if I'm sober enough to remember lol.

My secret is don't stop drinkin'

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Best I ever came up with was getting up and immediately smoking a couple bowls of Oregon Goo Bud. After that a full breakfast in an hour or so. Additional bowls as needed.

FINALLY, a good use for fructose!

I don't drink, but still, it's good to know.
