Obviously she shouldn't have been stealing, but you should have counted your change in the first places. There are a lot of situations which you might not have even had your money returned.

Another poll! I know you're all excited, too!
So, here is what happened today. I was buying a secondary TV at Tiger Direct in Miami today. I don't live in Miami but to get to Tiger Direct, any South Floridian's such as Hialeahchico305 and anyone else understands that it's a bitch to get to if you don't live in that area!
Anyway, I get there, buy the TV and check out at the register! The price of the TV was $149.79 and I handed her 2 $100 bills. Well, she handed me back $10.21. I thought it was a $50 she handed me as I had a bunch of things to carry by hand! I asked her what the return policy was and she said, "14 days". I then asked her if they offered an in store extended service plan and she said, "no". Smiled and laughed.
After driving back for 30 minutes, I set up the TV and then, grabbed the receipt from my wallet and noticed she gave me a $10 bill.
So, I call up the store and I told them that the lady short changed me and to audit her drawer immediately! They told me it would be best if I drive down to the store! Of course, I wasn't happy.
I get to the store, showed them my receipt and said to them, before you question or look in her drawer, ask her if she remembered me and what I handed her in cash. If she didn't remember me for whatever God reason, audit her drawer and watch the camera's!!!
So, they asked her this and she replied back that I gave her 3 bills. $100, $50 and $10.
See if you can see where she fucked up in her answer!!!!
She was terminated and being held until the police got there.
PS. Another reason why the knew she was lying was that the receipt showed I handed her $160 and they found 2 $100 bills and no one else paid cash until I got there. Real smart!
Nice, huh?

DRSE Reconnaissance

If it was intentional on her part, she got what was coming to her. If it was an accident, she shouldn't have lied about it - would have been resolved nicely if she had said "oh im very sorry sir, i must have been mistaken!".
You're in the clear. Don't feel like a jerk for demanding the quality of service you deem appropriate.

you weren't being a jerk at all. i wonder how many times she got away with it.
Don't look back ~ You're not going that way!

She's the jerk for saying she remembered what bills you gave her or for telling a lie about what you paid. Either way, you're in the clear and she's on the street.
Sad first day of the new year for her, but of her own making.

where we used to live a grocery store had just hired a new girl and she was terrible at making change. she would just give you whatever. the thing is it was always in the ball park by five or so bucks one way or the other and no one wanted to screw up her job so as far as i know no one complained. she calmed down and got the hang of things eventually. was funny as hell for a while but she was so nervous all you could do was hope she made it through.

I worked at a retail store and one of the clerks called me over and asked, something like, "I rang in $600 and the customer's bill is only $60. Should I give them change for six-hundred so the register stays even?"
Needless to say the girl went to the sales floor and was off that register. lol

sounds like an episode of are you being served.

She was a bad liar with poor math skills, too! It was intentional because she typed in the wrong amount. Had two $100 bills in her drawer that was easily detected because she only had 2 cash transactions for the day. At least she should've tried that crap at the end of the day when she could possibly have many cash transactions. Funny thing is, it was caught on tape!!!! Dumb cashier and she knew it, too!
You can't get 2 bills that equal $160 unless she makes money in her basement and the store is too stupid to miss a $60 bill! Ha Ha!

Sounds like she needed a good bitch slap on her way to jail.
