    A Navy captain may be in hot water for raunchy videos he produced and broadcast to the 6,000 servicemen and -women aboard the Enterprise aircraft carrier in 2006 and 2007.

    Some crew members complained about the videos, which showed Capt. Owen Honors pretending to masturbate and calling other characters (also played by Honors) anti-gay slurs, the Virginian-Pilot's Corinne Reilly reports.

    The Navy said in a statement that the videos were intended to be "humorous," not offensive. The Navy will investigate the matter, the Virginian-Pilot reported. Navy Cmdr. Chris Sims told the Associated Press that the videos "were not acceptable then and are not acceptable in today's Navy."

    Honors, who was promoted to top command of the nuclear-powered Enterprise in May, is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in a few weeks. A Navy source told ABC News that Honors could lose his command over the videos. It's unclear whether senior naval leaders knew about the videos when they promoted him in the spring.

    The videos were shot with "equipment from the ship's public affairs office, which typically spends deployments documenting and publicizing the good work of sailors," according to the Virginian-Pilot. A former female crew member said she and some other women were offended by the profanity-laced videos, but their complaints were brushed off.

    A few memorable humorous videos have emerged from stir-crazy troops in long deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, including this rendition of Lady Gaga's "Telephone." But Honors' video appears to be the first case where a commanding officer was the force behind the gags.

    One former videographer on the ship told the paper that Honors may have lost perspective on the long deployment. "In his defense, I'll say that sometimes, when you've been out to sea for a while, cut off from everything, you start to think things that you would never normally do are actually a good idea," he said. "You do stupid stuff to stay sane."

    An 0-6 should know better...I understand the humor and attempt to loosen things up, but the video went to far for a public release.

    I really don't see why these are a big deal, much less why these are the ones that got singled out. I've seen much worse from the Navy, the Army, the Air Force. Marines probably haven't gotten the others' leftover cameras yet to make youtube videos. And that's not a stab at the Marines, but we really don't treat those boys right

    Short of a the cussing and a few mild sexual references, those videos are no different than any of the videos seen at the official websites, showing you how "casual" and inviting military life is. These men are on 1-3 year long tours, let them maintain their sanity any way they can. Should we really be so nieve to think they aren't allowed any fun?

    The XO proudly aired a video of one of my friends banging 2 whores in Thailand on the ships CCTV....but we were an all guy ship back then, and it was a tougher group, no one born after 1981(my brother and younger Generations are all pussified) and no women to get all offended(just treat us like one of the guys, but tone it down a bit these bitches say)....

    "It's the motherfucking military be it man or woman grow a fucking pair or get out" I say (one of the reasons I left was I couldn't handle the PC spin they were just starting into with Stress Cards for recruits to take "Training Time-Outs" if the going got too tough (so what if 3 guys commited suicide during the first 3 weeks I was at RTC Great Lakes) if these turds couldn't handle being made to be responsible and do something difficult they would've been discharged and lived off of welfare for the remainder of their years....total drags on society. The military used to make those turds into fertilizer, now they just let them linger and stink up the whole institution...
