Reply With Quote4K isn't so much about text/academic learning...its about social learning. Being around other kids and learning how to interact with them.
I think its important and I'll be sending all my kids to kindergarten. I like your idea about the year post high school.

my solution to the education system
i have an idea to make our country smarter.DO NOT IMPLEMENT A 4K program ANYWHERE.it's not proven that it helps improve learning as years go on.keep the kids at home with their parents longer so parents LEARN to be PARENTS.instead have a transitional grade.like a semester or two AFTER high school graduation that has LIFE CLASSES and/or introductions to either college,tech school,military, or job force.

i think it's an excuse for many parents to dump their kids off on someone else.....it's also free babysitting

where is Kindergarten free? I've lived in quite a cities across the US and never heard of free K...b/c its not required
