Do you not pay taxes throughout the year or is that investment returns your are paying for ?

I will try not to get too jelous. I wish I had a 50 pound jug. Does anyone even sell 50 pounds? I think All the Whey used to.

luckily i'm geared to the gills so my body produces its own protein.

got my w2 on jan 8th

I make less than 50k per year so I efiled. Last year it took 8 days I think. This year it took 6.

I wasn't expecting much back but I turned in tuition expenses and got a little more than i thought.

I wish I would have dedcucted all my tuition expenses but i only included about half. When I use to ask tax "professionals" about claiming tuitiion and they said only interest payed on loans. I'm going to have my last 3 yrs taxes looked over and see if i'm owed more money.

Last year i filed an amendment and got back another couple hundred.

It's still no where near the amount i have payed in over the year.

Last time I was working and going to school I got a ton of money back just from tuition. That was definitely one thing that made going to college worth while. I'm going this year, but I don't think I'll be working (don't know), but well see.

If you get loans for college and pay them back you can also write off all of the interest, I believe...

last year my asshole accountant put my son's ss number in wrong and screwed everything up. I got my refund check last year in september because of that f-up. This year we are going to use turbo tax and see what that gets us. anyone else familiar with turbo tax?

That is what I used, turbo Tax.

IMO, its the best tax software out there but this is coming from someone that really doesn't have complicated returns. Judging from reviews it really seems to be a good product.

Thanks Roid, I figure if my acc can screw me for $375 a year. I'll give turbo a try this year. Did you download it or but the software form a tech store?

I used efile. Its free for federal returns if you meet certain criteria. One of them being that you have to earn less than 50k.

Simply didn't withhold enough in 2009. In 2010 I didn't make a big withholding adjustment until March. I'm on point for 2011.
