They said thismorning that 9 of the 13 BIG internet computers were crashed by hackers but were only down for under an hour.

They say the system stays up until 8 out of 13 A-roots become unaccessible .. they got up to 5 this time.
wadayamean, decentralized ARPA system ? I think this will be the next terrorist target (sure as hell will do more damage financially without killing anybody ..) If everybody were to run a decent antiviral program, things like this wouldn't be happening all the time. |

Actually antivirus programs won't stop DOS attaches. But they would stop alot of the stupid email virus's.

you're correct, no anti-virus program can stop them, I believe a level 3 firewall can.

imagine if the internet got put out of commission, even if it were only for a day.
 15 years ago it would not have made a difference, but today we are very dependant on it. |

yeah no kidding, all the business's. and financial transactions that everybody does online every day. It would be horrible now days. Kinda sad when you think about it. How dependant so many have become on computers and the internet.
