'Multiculturalism utterly failed in Germany' - Merkel

Time for Americans to wakeup, you have allowed people to live in your country that openly hate you and your way of life. They insult your culture, marginalize your traditions and holidays, absorb your wealth through welfare programs they pay nothing into, burn your flags, and disrespect those who serve and sacrifice the country they choose to live in.

Text version: 99.9999999999 of third-world people should stay in third-world countries. The rest can use legal immigration.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

Yes, but isn't this what diversity and multiculturalism is all about? I thought we were supposed to de-emphasize our traditions and holidays, give them back the wealth we stole from the third world (i.e. entitlement programs), hide our flag, and apologize for being too rich and powerful, and they would all love us. What are we missing here?

Seriously, can you imagine the outrage and demands for her resignation we'd be hearing if she were a US politician and gave the exact same speech. She clearly has a bigger set than anyone in DC.

not even the same story...Germany is comprised of German's while the US is comprised of people from everywhere, not native to this country. it is one of the main reasons why the US is so full of conflict at varying levels. since we all come from different places we all have different values and belief systems, while we may be all "Americans" we are all not one people.

With the exception of the slaves, the vast majority of early settlers were from other first-world countries. The problem in Germany, and the USA, is the influx of people from third-world countries.

Nice spin.....if that's how you are going to avoid the truth here is a spin for you.

    Top this.

100% of America and Germany are immigrants, in fact every nation on Earth that is not in Africa is 100% immigrants.

I love the way LAM spins virtually every topic in a way that puts the US in a negative light. With the exception of African slaves and native americans, most all of the settlers that built this country were from western EU nations. It has only been in the last century, particularly the last half century, that we've had people from 3rd world and developing nations. The conflict brought about by 3rd world immigrants in Germany that she is referring to is no different than what we are now starting to experience in the US with illegal immigrants from Mexico and certain pockets of other 3rd world immigrants who do not want to assimilate.

You say this as though Americans should care about what most of the world thinks. Most of the rest of the world is crap, so why should we care?

Also, you should demand a refund for your "English as a Second Language" course.

If you live in EU, you're not across the boarder, so you need to take a geography course at the same time you repeat your ESL course. If, on the other hand, you're right over the border in Mexico and don't like being so close, please feel free to move further south. I wish moar Mexicans were that content.

I live in a world based on reality which one do you live in? the US is a great country in some ways and on many one of the worst. the US is only a highly developed nation because of the reliance on borrowing monies to build. when compared to many other highly developed nations the US is equivalent to a sociopathic toddler with a credit card and Mac-10. this is why there are many other highly developed countries run by governments far more liberal than ours with substantially less social problems across the board.

tell me Gears if the US is such a great country then why was the School of the America's (now renamed WHISC) ever started and why is it still running?

The SOA was just another example of the US tending to it's backyard (latin america). We got some flack over human rights abuses committed by soldiers and other military personnel who trained there. Of course, latin america is going to be latin america, regardless of where their military personnel train. Latin America wouldn't be a bastion of human rights protection with or w/out the SOA. My opinion of foreign policy is to use the military to defend the US borders and other interests, not nation building. So, the SOA probably wasn't necessary.

Polish and Irish were treated as third world when they first migrated here....

    Just saying....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Werd. Nothing against immigrants from 3rd world or developing countries. But, it doesn't seem like too much to ask that they learn the language and at least make an attempt to assimilate, or at least show some basic respect and not shit all over the local culture and traditions. That doesn't mean that they have to abandon their own culture and traditions. But, don't expect the society to transform just because you don't like everything you see. Like PM Howard said "If you want to live under Sharia Law, then move to Saudi Arabia." He caught his share of flack for making such a "racist" statement. But, he was 110% correct. Freedom of religion doesn't mean freedom to enforce your own radical views on the rest of the society.

Cameron (UK Prime Minister) made a statement today about "state multi-culturalism" having been a failure in Britain.

The West, and the USA and UK in particular, have officially promoted "multi-culturalsim.

But compare this 'state mutlicultural' agenda to the rest of the word: Africa, Islamic states in the Middle East, India, China, and East Asia.

These other regions and nations of the world do not practice it. They don't promote it. And many think it's not something that should be officially promoted.

Multiculturalism has been a one-way street: heading to the USA.
Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.

    Mark Twain
