how do u get started in something like this ?

I love how on topic this thread is.
Im not a drug dealer, im a street pharmacist!
Captn' is right, don't ever invest what you cant afford to lose.
I recommend you look around you, at the shit YOU use every day. Those companies are selling product and you know it because you are buying it. So is everyone else. Also, you understand how the company makes money, they produce a widget and you buy it. Don't buy shit you don't understand.
Examples: ADBE, Adobe. I use their software every day, so do u.
YUM, Yum brands. Chinese people like Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, so do I.
XOM, Exxon. I buy a lot of my gas from them, I think oil will be higher in 3 years=XOM good buy.
RL, Ralph Lauren. I wear his clothes, so do u.
V, visa. I use mine multiple times per day, so do u.
As far as stock picks, they are garbage. If I ever give u one tell me 2 fuk off, and anyone else that gives you one. Like stated above, some guy is wearing 10,000 shares of some shitty stock and needs someone to move the price up for him, he tells you and everyone else how good it is so he can sell into you buying.
I look for big trends and then buy something that will move with it. I think the US market is in for a very good 3-5 years.
How do I trade? If I liked Visa, and I had $10,000 to put into Visa, I would put only $3-4K in. Then if Visa drops and I still like it I will "double down" with another $3-4k. Then if Visa moves up I will sell the "double down" shares first. Hopefully Visa sells off again and I will do it all over, still holding the original shares I bought and trading around them. Currently Buying Visa at $70 and selling around $74. Yes its at $76 and I sold at $74 but still have my original shares should it go to $100 or something. But I hope it goes back to $70 I will do it again. I do this on about 10 stocks at a time, give or take.
The one idea I will give you is that US bond funds are a terrible place to be right now and will be terrible for some time to come. When rates start to go up bonds will get killed and your fund will go down. Move into dividend paying equity instead, or buy some bonds from a different country like Australia where rates are much higher already.
Pardon my ignorance, fellas: what is LHJO?
I have bought stock a couple of times: I bought MSFT (Microsoft in 1995 and sold it in 2007. Got 6X a return, but it was flat for about 2-3 years. I used a broker. Paid him a fee to buy.
Then, I opened up a Scott Trade Account about 3 years ago and bought F (Ford) at per $6-7-8 per share (I've forgotten).
Of course, I have the coulda-woulda-shouldas.
Hindsight is always 20/20.
Fookin Apple....just think back when Apple was like $50.....should have saw it coming: ipod, and other products.
I know some regular folk that made a f*cking killing on Apple!!!

Left hand jack off. Where the fuck have you been?
If you sit on your hand until it falls asleep you can get the LHJO stanger...
I would play that simulation for a while before I did any real money. I'd probably make bank on the sim then do it in real life and lose everything. I like to stick to more stable, recession prood markets.
^ Thanks, but I still don't get it.....

LHJO is a solid company. I just bought 900 shares of it this morning.
It's an up and comer that's for sure.

After 8 years immersed in this biz it seems that a pattern follows where prices drop in late spring and start to ramp up in late summer and towards end of year. In the US this market is driven by tax incentives so alot of folks scramble starting in fall to get systems up as demand goes up prices fall, then demand drops prices up then large contracts get signed after the first of the year for large commercial projects demand up price down then summer rolls around all the installers are busy with these commercial jobs not much else happening price goes up then the tax credit crunch starts up and demand again.....

not yet plucked as to slacken the seams

eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

If I work for\with\in the same industry as you, I buy. When I know you're fucking up\pissing me off\being scummy, I sell. Then, I reinvest in your competitor. So far so good
