What do you do for a living or what would you wish to do for a living?

Ohhh..

im a network engineer responsible for voice/data communications (telco/lan/wan) at a small company that has maybe 20 offices or so.
it's a very challenging job because everything takes well thought out planning and a lot of team members on the same page to get it all right. the time lines we have to go by are rarely adhered to by management, making everything seem like complete chaos during implementation. this chaos is why i absolutely love it there![]()
I finished a degree in Business-management major and tourism minor but, I have been the head of security at busy night club in my city. it is unfortunate but i make more money working 25 hours a week dealing with drunks then if worked at a bank for 40 hours...

If I had my way, I'd be an Alaskan bush pilot in the summer and have a Caribbean dive operation the other months of the year.
That said, I'm a small business owner now and life is fantastic.

I worked in one of the few remaining steel mills in the Ohio Valley. Worked there for 5 years and got laid off in '09. Since I didn't want to worry about future layoffs I decided to go back to school. 2 years from now I will have a bachelors in mechanical engineering. School sucks when you take 12 years off between highschool to the present but I deserve it since I acted like an immature alcoholic drug addict in my late teens. If I only knew then what I know now. Saddest thing in life is wasted youth.

But....everything is possible, to a degree.

You were in the mortgage business a few years ago. It must have been hot then, but you got out as the business changed, I assume. It's still interesting to me.

I worked in the mortgage business from about 1995-2007 my license isn't active anymore. I just did it for the extra income and to make sure friends didn't get screwed, the work itself couldn't be any less challenging it's basic math. I still follow the industry and keep up with the new laws, programs, etc.

Be careful what you wish for. I've worked in public education for many years. Things are a real mess right now, and quickly getting worse. Too many people in power that don't know their ass from their elbow.

I've done things like that a few times. At a factory I used to be an electrician we would take charged up capacitors from motors and go into the office and toss them to one of the other guys and say something like take a look at this. It didn't take people long to realize they shouldn't catch it or move out of the way.
