They said it was "impacted", so maybe that is why the pain is so bad. It was pushing against my upper jaw bone.

that sucks. 7.5 hydro, I would have slapped him. 7.5 aint shit. If you smoke "anything" I would def quit for a few days, You dont want a dry socket. Dillute some peroxide and water "warm" and gently swish. It helps. Man you might want to take an advil, it will help with the nagging dull pain and anti inflamation. Brother, I feel for ya!!!

2 to 3 tops.

Try some other pain killers. Friend of mine had his pulled, he didnt feel any pain with his pain killers.

Motrin. Like 800 mgs.You just gotta wait out the inflammation and pain. Percs or vikes do help tho.

1000mg ibuprofen and 15mg hydrocodone seems to be the right combination.

they are vicoprofen, 200mg/7.5

the pain has subsided a lot.

2xvicoprofen, 1x600mg ibuprofen

Well theres always a coldwater extraction method with like 3 of em. So you get the opiates of 3 minus the acetaminophen shit. thatll have you nodding out for 5 hrs.

If it was still hurting when the dentist was open I'd go back and make the fucker give me something stronger.

it has gotten better now.

early this morning i was in a lot of pain.

I have enough pills to get me through tomorrow @ 6 pill per day.

Thats insane thats all they gave you, I got like 30 or so percs when I got my wisdoms pulled and it hurt for about 3 days, in that I needed more then ibuprofen. Also try gently swishing salt water to ease the pain and keep clear of infection. But have no hesitation about going back and asking for a shot of long lasting Novocain. That will get you through alot of it I think there is a 12 hour Novocain.

I was going to but I didn't want them to think I was drug seeking.

he kind of made a big deal about the fact I told him I didn't want tylenol. The 500mg apap/hydrocodone.

he was like how do you know ? what are you taking now ? I mean, it just seemed to me that I shouldn't have any say and that since I did I must be some kind of drug addict because i was trying to give input about how i wanted to manage the pain.

he was a young arrogant doctor and I think if he would have taken his time it wouldn't be so painful. It is a corporate office and the doctors get payed more by seeing as many patients as possible.

They did it wrong.

I had two impacted wisdom teeth pulled when I was 22. Had little pain and no problem sleeping. The biggest problem was getting food stuck in the new holes. Man that's annoying.

I got all 4 pulled when I was 20.. 30 percs and 30 vikes perscribed, incase I had a reaction I felt nothing but clouds, laughter and well, sleep, for 4 straight days lol


Side note: my doc knocked me out, pulled all 4 "no problem".. when I got up I was fuckin FLYING lol

The pain killers I received didn't do anything for me. It was a week (to 10 days) of pure hell. Either get a more powerful drug or deal with it.

Oxycontin also work for that kinda stuff if you can get your hands on any. Hope u feel better. I had 3 of mine out at age 18 and I was laying on the couch with puffy cheeks yelling at my mother that the f&#$ing doctor didn't know what he was doing.

That fucking piece of shit doctor... I would be all up in the chief of the practice's ass about this. You have EVERY right to manage your pain, why do you think people get pain pumps in hospitals, doctors can't tell you are in pain. And hydrocodone is terrible for you, the fact you got one with advil in it is great and he should be using that in the first place. Man I would be all up in that guys face ripping his arrogant ass a new asshole. Doctors who cross me get an earful, that is what you get when your mother is a nurse for 37 years, no tolerance for doctors bull shit.

If it isn't better by tomorrow night I will have to call him and tell him to at least let me get a refill.

Not being able to sleep at night is the worst. A few nights of no sleep and the steroids will start to talk. RAGE BABY

I had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted when I was around 19 years old, and they were impacted and sideways under the gums, the dentist had to break them to pull them out, then after this terrible experience I ended up getting dry socket on my lower two sockets, it was the worst week of my life.

The lady said i probably have dry sockets because it is swollen so badly. hell, its barely been 24 hrs since I had it removed.

From what they described I should be feeling and how it actually feels is completely different.

IMO oral surgery is the worst, if I had to do it over again I would have not eaten any solid for for the first 3 days and gargled salt water several times per day, but I was a teen and of course did not do what they told me to do.

how long did it take for the pain to go away ?

I'm not tough guy but I'm not a wimp either and this shit is hurting me. I can't get comfortable for one second.

i have had my shoulder dislocated several times and my gal bladder removed and neither compare to this. Its just a constant annoying throbbing. If feels like something is stabbing into my jaw bone.

I seriously think i have an infection or something.

it was a long time ago, but a full week maybe ten days at most is what I seem to remember, I had to keep going back to the dentist to have him re-pack this medicated gauze in the two dry sockets until they healed, that was actually the worst pain, him pulling the old stuff out and packing in the new.

Ouch!

I was lucky mine have come in straight, my friend had his done in the Navy and they gave him Motrin and that's it, he was so miserable we shared a hotel room and I went out and hit up a friend for some percocets. Reminded me of when I had my toenail removed by the EMT's with a scalpel at the base hospital and they sent me walking home in steel-toed boots and told me to stop by the store to get some tylenol....


Some doctors I've found must not know real pain or think everyone is a junkie, this one kept giving me Ultram even after I told him I got better relief from taking 4 advil at a time. He just looked at me and said stop taking 4 advil at a time, if the Ultram isn't working there is nothing more I can do for you. Back then I wasn't even drinking let alone shopping for drugs I just wanted relief from constant back pain that interrupted and ruled my every living minute.....

Im 30 next week and I still have all of my wisdom teeth. My top ones came in all the way and my bottom ones have yet to show themselves. I should probably ask the dentist about that next time.

Go see that fucker, this is not a normal amount of pain; the guy did a hack job and should be forced to fix the problem he created. And don't even think about seeing him, ask to see the most senior and experienced surgeon in the practice and don't take no for an answer. A call to the AMA to report the doctor tends to get their attention REAL fast, better yet, tell them you will report them to your insurance company for neglecting a patient. The thought of more charges and insurance not reimbursing the doctor doesn't go over well with them. I did this and I had an appointment in 10 minutes.
