    Exclamation Some thoughts on bears, fat, beauty, fasting, awareness



    If you look at animals in the wild, they dont have a fixed diet.

    They eat when they can eat. Sometimes they stay days or weeks without eating or do you really think a lion has his gazelle protein shake every day?

    Then you think. What is fat? It is how your body stores energy. When you look at a fat person, you need to think that person is very good at storing energy. That is why fat girls were thought to be beautiful. Fat people in general. All primitive cultures like that as a sign of that person being rich in some way. Of course too much fat is not good for your health but you know I am saying.

    When I was younger and I thought about losing some fat. I stopped eating, it worked. Then I learned it was not healthy or is it? If you look at people who stop eating as a form of protest or people that stop eating for religious rituals. They report the same thing. They feel crazy hungry and they cant even think about something else if not food. After that, a few days, they dont feel hungry anymore. They usually report a sense of well being and an increased sense of awareness. I have felt that when I stopped eating. Probably not healthy and not encouraging eating disorders but you do feel that. I read people that die because they stopped eating, dont feel any pain. Is it true? I dont know.

    Question I have for you is.. is it healthy to stop eating? If your body has fat and your body breaks down that fat to use it. Why would it bad to stop eating for 1 week or more? I think bears do it for months, yes?

    bears don't eat when they hibernate. i think they forage for food and eat almost constantly building up their fat stores to get ready for hibernation.

    so maybe this would work for you if you eat a ton and get as fat as possible, then sleep for a few weeks.

    Healthy? People have been fasting for centuries.

    I've been following the leangains IF approach for almost two months now. I'm getting lean without any real cardio (~1 hour per week) and I'm having at least two cheat meals a week plus drinking one night per week.

    That my friends is an oxymoron.

    I vote for IV meals. All of what the body needs with none of the hassle of eating.
    Everybody wanna be a bodybuilder but dont nobody wanna lift this heavy ass weight. R.C.

    humans evolved to go through periods of fasting. Some of the healthiest religious groups are the ones who fast periodically. In this country the Mormons fast one day a month and statistically their rates of heart disease etc are lower than their other american counterparts. I personally fast one day ever two months.

    Do they really sleep or sit around bored? I am not used to bears.
