Nasa scientist finds 'evidence of life' in meteorites
Dr Richard Hoover, an astrobiologist at the space agency's Marshall Space Flight Centre in Alabama, said he found alien bacteria in a rare form of meteorite of which only nine are known to exist.
Dr Hoover, an expert on life in extreme environments, said the samples he analysed lacked nitrogen, pointing to them having originated elsewhere.
He said: "I interpret it as indicating that life is more broadly distributed than restricted strictly to the planet Earth."
His findings were published in the Journal of Cosmology, which has asked other scientists to look at them and give their own opinions.
Editor-in-Chief Dr Rudy Schild said: "Given the controversial nature of his discovery we have invited 100 experts, and have issued a general invitation to over 5,000 scientists from the scientific community, to review the paper and to offer their critical analysis."

I think anything of that nature would be many, many thousands of billion light years away. far out of the range to be detected by anything we have
