Damage looks really bad in Japan. They've shut down SF beaches for tsunami. Last thing the economy needs.... Don't even want to look at what stocks will do today....

this was the craziest video i could find. you see this huge wave of debris, houses boats and fires and stuff coming into this town and it comes up to this road in the lower left hand corner of the screen WITH CARS DRIVING ON IT and one of them stops and the camera slowly cuts away from it but you have to know they were totally wipped out

I moved my dogs up to the mountains to my gf's brothers house, they're on vacation so we had to try to sleep in patio chairs. I don't fully trust these scientists, one was saying Waikiki wouldn't see much of anything and another said the waves will hit all shores. My house is just a block away from the inundation zone so I said fuck it and we made 2 trips to get all 8 dogs to high ground. Didn't sleep a wink...
I had a feeling that it would hit just like it has, following what I've seen in aerodynamics and thinking fluid dynamics can't be too different I could visualize the waves hitting Kauai and kind of wrapping in sucking some water off of the shore on Oahu then really picking up velocity and hitting Maui and then the large mass of the Big Islands Kona side hard....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I really feel for those in Japan who had their whole universe shaken and stirred like that, that's a double whammy like Katrina. It happens like that though, the shaking may not get you but the flooding or the mudslides or the fires afterwards just wreak havoc....

Wow.... Super crazy videos! Radio keeps saying Japan was as prepared as any country could be.... Gotta think it would have been a lot worse if Japan had Haitian building standards.
