I hear ya, I'm a trainer and hear it more than I'd like to admit, but then again it isn't the worse shit I hear on a daily basis.
The one I hear most often and absolutely hate is, "I don't want to get big, I just want to get toned." That's what you get from folks who are chatting with their lifting partner while doing curls with #5 dumbells.![]()
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

I actually hear this shit from a lot of guys:
Me: "So what are you training for right now?"
Them: "Well...i don't wanna get MASSIVE like Brad Pitt."
Me: "I have to go over here now."
*Gunshot*
Honestly, i actually don't think a lot of people can comprehend the difference between big and ripped. To them it's all one and the same. They point out a skinny ripped guy and say he has big muscles because they are visible, then look at a big dude on a bulk with some definition and say they'd rather look like that because he's not as big.
They also interchange the terms "ripped" with "big" or whatever. Ranty ranty rant rant rant.
