Chris Pine Talks Star Trek 2, Says Kirk Will Have A Love Interest
The actor, who plays James T Kirk in JJ Abrams' StarTrekreboot, has spoken briefly about the highly anticipated sequel..
Chris Pine has taken to his Facebook page to give Star Trek fans a brief update on the progress with the sequel..

“After a thousand questions regarding the Star Trek sequel I can finally say I am holding the draft script in my hand. I can also now tell you I have a love interest and it’s all looking very exciting. Sorry but I cant give you a date for filming yet, but you guys are going to love it!”
So at least we know Kirk gets some action then. This of course suggests that this love interest will play a substantial part in the movie's plot, and not be just another fling like the last movie's hot green chick! Aside from this, we know next to nothing about the plot. Only that Khan will not be the villain but it will be a character from the original series and he or she won’t be a “traditional” villain..
Chris Pine Talks Star Trek 2, Says Kirk Will Have A Love Interest

It's only a Kirk love interest if she dies or leaves at the end of the movie.

about another group that actually does something

From Chris Pine Says Kirk Will Get a Love Interest in STAR TREK 2
Regardless, I'm looking forward to this sequel!
Yet another good movie coming out in 2012... I am happy to see Kirk is getting some pussy. I would have hit that green chick, she was smoking hot! And yes, I like Star Trek, no shame in my game.

I like Star Trek, too. Looking forward to the next one.

The Star Trek remake was an abomination. They raped a legacy to death. I wanted to walk out 3/4 of the way through. Don't make a another one please. Do we have to see the Star Trek corpse get raped, too.

^ What didn't you like?
Or what did you hate more, the story or the actors chosen to replace the original cast?

I'm a diehard trekkie ( yes went to all the conventions and therefore had no social life in highschool) and still loved the alternate universe star trek jj abrhams created.

I actually liked the new star trek even though I was never into the original show. I think mostly since it had some funny moments in it, not sure if the series did the same. By the way I believe the hot green chick is the same one from g.i. joe

I love em all! Star Trek universe is the BOMB![]()

Will watch

The first "new" one was good and I had never watched anything "Star Trek" before.

Zachary Quinto Talks Star Trek Sequel!
Zachary Quinto Talks Star Trek Sequel!
The actor behind Spock in J.J.Abrams'Star Trek reboot talks about the film's upcoming sequel, Spock being one of the few Vulcans left, and more...

Speaking to io9, ZacharyQuinto- perhaps best known for his portrayal of 'Spock' in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot - talks briefly about where his character journey could go in the sequel, while praising director Abrams and producer Damon Lindelof. He also confirms that the romance story will likely stay alive in the sequel, while talking a bit about the number of Vulcans still alive after the race was almost completely wiped out in the first film.
Where do you think your character is in the second film, where do you think his character journey is going?
I wonder about that. I would imagine (this is just speculative), his planet's been destroyed, he feels a real imperative to rebuild his race. But he's in love with a human. There's probably some potential conflict in that dynamic, I would not be surprised, and I would be intrigued and excited by that if that were the case. Again, I have such implicit trust in all of those guys: Damon, Bob and Alex, and J.J. I feel like they're going to take us where we need to go. And we're going to follow them whole-heartedly.
Do you think they'll keep the romance story alive with you, and do you want them to?
I do think [so]. I don't see how they could just drop it. It may be fraught, I don't know!
Where is Spock now? He's one of the last few Vulcans.
He's not the only Vulcan, I think I said, "Of my planet's nearly 6 billion inhabitants, approximately 10,000 have survived." He's not the only one. But the odds aren't great. He has a bit of a cultural imperative to [help].
Would Spock really seek out more Vulcans, especially since he turned his back on their culture previously?
He turned his back by choosing not to go to the Vulcan Science Academy, but his culture has always been a very important part of who he is. It's an integral part of his internal fabric. I think if he's wrestling with feelings of guilt for having sort of embraced his humanity, then an event like this is the great equalizer, it levels the playing field. I don't think he's going to spend too much time feeling guilty. I think he's going to spend a lot more time doing the logical thing. Which is to help repopulate, help support, and help rebuild the race of people. His father was full full Vulcan, and he has a responsibility there, and he loves his father very much. I don't think he's that torn about it. I think he's done the best he can to straddle a really complicated circumstance.
What other questions do you have about the next film? What are you excited for?
I'm interested to see what the villain situation is. What are we fighting against, what is our mission? That's going to be really cool for me. I'm really excited to see the direction in which they take my character in general. I'm excited to see when this movie takes place, in juxtaposition to when we ended the first one. Where do we pick back up? What's happened to the characters since then? My sense is what's the dynamic like between Kirk and Spock? Is it all smooth sailing? I imagine that they're both so strongly willed, that there will be some continued friction... I'm just excited to read it and shoot it.
Starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, AntonYelchinand Karl Urban, J.J. Abrams' currently untitled Star Trek sequel hits theaters sometime in 2012/2013.

Producer Proposes New Star Trek TV Series
Producer Proposes New Star Trek TV Series
Trek Web has posted an interview with David Foster of 1947 Entertainment. Foster, details his vision of Star Trek, that has not yet been officially pitched to CBS.
Foster has been working on the secret project for quite some time. There has been a smattering of rumors that he had been working on a series, but this is the first time he has unveiled any details. The project has been working under the code name S.E.T.I., and the actual title has not be made public. Foster has said that past Star Trek producers, visual effects artists, and script writers have encouraged his project. The final piece for Foster is finding the right executiveproducer, and then he should be ready to approach CBS officially.
Interview by Jack Trevino
Trevino: What can you tell us about the series concept?
Foster: The series concept is fully developed, subject to change of course, with a solid 5-7 year series plan, pilot script and a conceptualized finale that intends to define StarTrekfor generations, extensive character bios, costume and ship/set designs, and more. This is a drastic departure from the typical 8-10 page treatment of the previously pitched Star Trek series ideas that have not included even a pilot script.
Trevino: Star Trek has now been re-imagined via JJ Abrams well received vision of Gene Roddenberry's original series. Can you elaborate on whether your series will follow that same path?
Foster: Though Kevin and I did thoroughly enjoy Star Trek (2009), the vision that we have created is true to the "pre-2009 screen canon" (TV and movies).
Trevino: What is the time frame of your series?
Foster: The series is set in the post-Voyager era, and is designed to return Star Trek to its original series roots in big and mighty ways, without disregarding the other series and movies. As Star Trek (2009) was an alternate timeline, it will not conflict with any canon there either.
Trevino: What kind of show will it be?
Foster: The series is highly energized with a much younger cast, and uses cutting-edge future technologies with newly envisioned special effects and designs. It includes Klingons, Ferengi, Andorians, Vulcans, Trill, and many more. The Klingons are getting very restless since the Praxis incident forced them to come to the peace tables, and are tired of having to rely on the Federation for support. The Ferengi have discovered a vast new resource that has propelled them towards instant riches and power beyond anything they have previously experienced.
Trevino: Is there anything else you can offer the fans at this time?
Foster: Here's the Teaser: If evil wore the face of a hero, would you recognize it? If freedom came in the likeness of your oppressors, would you accept it? If you were your own enemy, who would be victorious?
This sounds pretty damn cool, always liked the Star Trek TV series itterations, Next Gen and Voyager being the best in regards to cast and story line in my opinion.

JJ Abrams On Board Star Trek 2, Set To Shoot This Winter
JJ Abrams On Board Star Trek 2, Set To Shoot This Winter
It appears Mr Abrams has finally committed to directing a sequel to his 2009 Star Trek reboot. Reports from Vulture suggest that pre-production is underway and cameraswill role as soon as this Winter..
We all thought it was inevitable that Abrams would eventually step back behind the camera for a sequel to his hugely popular Star Trek flick. But when his delay in committing outright caused Paramount to switch the sequel's planned release date of late June 2012 with that of the G.I. Joe 2 many began to get a little worried that he may not get to helm the movie himself. Well fear not..

Vulture can confirm that J.J. Abrams has finally committed to shooting Star Trek 2. Insiders familiar with the director's plans tell Vulture that pre-production is underway, that the script will be done by month's end and that Abrams will start shooting this winter.
Apparently the delay was due to screenwriter Alex Kurtzman being tied up getting his directorial debut Welcome To People in the can. But now he is all done and ready to boldly go again. The entire main cast of the first movie are set to return but we know very little about the plot. All we really do know for certain is that this will not be a remake or reboot of Wrath Of Khan as many fans thought (hoped?) it might be.
Now even though I trust Vulture completely, this isn't exactly OFFICIAL official if you get me, some type of studio release would be nice. Anyway, more info if and when we have it. Live long and prosper.
