    Okay, what the fuck?

Snooki Earns Higher Speaking Fee Than Toni Morrison - The Famous - omg! on Yahoo

I understand the bar appearances. I really do. No matter how much I hate this dumb cunt, I get that.

What I don't get is being paid $32,000 by a university to speak and answer questions. What the fuck does her opinion matter? Why is she being paid this much?

    I hate this shit.

It's a commentary on the condition of this country and what we consider to be important. A very sad commentary.

    WOW!

Rutgers University recently booked Nobel Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison for its commencement address in May for a price of $30,000. Meanwhile, the university recently had Rolling Stone cover girl Snooki on campus for an hour-long Q&A, shelling out $32,000 for the "Jersey Shore" star.

Now, there are some considerations to keep in mind here (Snooki was paid by a student-run committee whereas Morrison was paid by the university; Snooki's fee will be divided among her management and opening act, etc.), but the fact that Snooki pulled in more than Morrison definitely makes for an amusing contrast.

Snooki's event was attended by about 1,000 students, who waited for most of the afternoon to secure wristbands, according to the New Jersey Star-Ledger:

"She spent an hour answering questions, teaching students the signature 'Jersey Shore' first pump and styling a student's hair in her iconic 'pouf' hairdo. She also introduced her father, who was in the audience wearing a "Papa Snooki" sleeveless T-shirt.

"When asked what her advice was for Rutgers students, she said: 'Study hard, but party harder.'"

Who needs Toni Morrison after advice like that?

I just threw up in my mouth. I had famous historians, academics and ex members of congress come to mine. This is an unreal waste of university money.

Man just Toni alone with her streetwise wisdom of "making sure no one knows all there is to know about me." and "watch everything and everyone and try to figure out their plans, their reasonings, long before they do." Is worth a thousand fist pump lessons, hair primpings and "study hard, but party harder dudes"....fuck that, even if it was a student committee who chose the Snooki Monster and not the University, that committee needs a swift kick in the ass, and they owe their classmates $31,000....cause Snooki is worth maybe $1000 as a study in some biology lab....

    Sounds like you have issues.

Reality is college kids care what she thinks.

Society became a cesspool of ignorance years ago.

    Old news.

Why does it sound like he has issues for hating how low society can go? Should he be dismissive? Should he attend? Ya your right about the society thing, but it's not old news - it's ongoing and getting sadder every year. I get rage just thinking about it as well... I could understand if she was hot, but the bitch is literally a fucking TROLL. I side with Al Qaeda on this one.

He's got issues for getting all worked up about such meaningless crap.

More serious problems going on in the world to be that concerned about this foolishness.

In the grand scheme of things, Snooki and the Jersey Shore are but a footnote.

I fucking loathe Snooki, Jersy Shore, and everything it stands for, but thank you for posting the facts. The is a huge difference between a student group paying her and the school paying her. If my college had paid Snooki $30,000 to speak, I would have set the school president's house on fire.

The university I went to wasted so much fucking money that it got to be funny after a while. The computers in the CIS department were 8 years old, but the school decided that starting a football team and building a multimillion dollar bell tower was more important. Oh yeah, tuition was raised substantially to start the football program.

College is the biggest scam on American teens. For those of us too poor to have a parents pay our tuition, but too wealthy to get any financial assistance, we have committed ourselves to indentured servitude to Sallie Mae for the rest of our lives paying back loans and other college expenses.

That's why I chose to go to one of those accelerated, no-nonsense colleges like ITT, Heald, Etc. we had to be in class everyday, no tardies at all, 1 1/2 years you get a 2 year associates all of my teachers worked in the fields they were teaching, our computer programming teacher worked at Square Soft back in the Spirits Within days, others were guys from the civilian side of computer admins in the military or the hospitals, our electronics teachers, one of my English teachers was an author, our Psychology professor had a real practice during the day..... I'd already had a college party hard lifestyle while in the Navy, I was ready to get down to business and learn, and I'm glad I did or I would never have ended up in the Photovoltaics department where I work now....
